Unread post Hi Friends!
So, I've been trolling these forums for a week or so, just trying to get a feel for the current age of TW. I'm glad there are still people playing and loving this game! Nice work keeping it alive.

It's also sad to see some of the oldtimers leaving the game - even though we all know they'll be back. Like me! I'M BACK!!!! :P

Well, maybe not completely back. At least not in the same capacity as I was back in the day. I would like to contribute in some way to the TW community, since I always seem to gravitate back here somehow. I've made lots of good efriends and gained valuable programming experience through my dabbling in scripting. I still love this game, I wanna see it stick around.

My question for you all is, what do you want?!? What is it that you think is most important to make this game start growing again?

I have a registered TWGS that I'd be willing to start up again. I'd be willing to dedicate time for programming/scripting projects people would like to see. I can also fade back into oblivion if that's what it takes!

I fired up my old ICQ account the other day (no idea people were still using that), brought back a lot of memories! Also found my backup files for Scripter's Tavern and loaded it up - talk about nostalgia!

Hey, let me know, I'm here to help! Or just tell me to go away, that's fine.

BTW, anyone know how I can get my old forum handle back? Don't know which email I had attached to it, and I'm sure I probably don't have access to it anymore.

TL;DR - I like cake.

Welcome back SupG.

A few things that usually get a lot of attention here is posts in the scripts forum. I think we still have a few dabblers around here that get all worked up when someone posts there.

The most important contribution would be to port twxproxy to a free C compiler. Have fun with that! :-)

More players. Younger players. Aspiring programmers who grew up with games where client-side scripting was considered cheating.

My scheme is to lure them with my shiny new toy. Of course I had to go and get a stupid full-time job around the time I released the first public version. Lately I've been working on making it buildable with Maven, and trying to get it to work right on OSX.

Looks pretty nice, good work. I don't think I could bring myself to build anything in Java though.. :)

I'm actually dabbling in making a TWXish app in C#/SQL. Probably not what you're looking for if you're wanting a non-windows version :). But I'm very comfortable with C# and it seems like a fun project. I need to brush up on my SQL though - anyone proficient at stored procedures? :) I think this will be more of a personal project though - most likely won't see the light of day beyond my own personal use.

I just bought a raspberry pi, I am going to see what I can do with debian and TW

You might want to have a look at EPs latest project:

I was thinking about getting one of those.
I'm very interested in your opinion of it.
Please let me know how it works for you.
