Keep telling yourself that. Meanwhile, the rest of us will go on playing and having fun.

Agreed. I remember the old days where a new game would come out. It was a lot of fun to try and g-torp a mystery planet that would have free equipment, for example, as well as figuring out other things in a game (planet production, whether a ship has a pricey escape pod, etc).

Having a TWA file in advance takes the fun out of that.

And I don't buy D's bullpucky line of "trust" for wanting a TWA file in advance. How does he know the same TWA file that he would get in advance is not the same edit when playing the actual game, right?

He's just blowing smoke up his arse and claiming GZ is the best when really, they are simply taking advantage of a downtime in the game of Trade Wars. Hardly anyone else plays competitively anymore. Most people these days play for the simple reason to have some fun and socialize with other players, win or lose.

Am I right? Hell yeah.

I agree with you and Vader.
That attitude is symptomatic with the reason TW has declined, taken together with the twixie pixies “club baby seals” approach to the game, which has destroyed TW for newbies and retreads.

Someone of D’s self-claimed competence needs 2 weeks to study settings and develope custom scripts to suit? Jeese.

I have been around longer than Sing, as have Cruncher and you; think Vader also, not that “veteran” status matters to offer an opinion.

Hell no,
Id rather practice an edit, or atleast know which edit, so when it comes to game time my corp doesnt have to waste money, time, turns or assets playing a guessing game, which could very well hurt you bad enough to cost ya the game, guess thats the difference between a midiocor player and a great player!! Second, thats funny, If krakken was so good for so many years, and everytime we played them we own them, that should say it all:]

You very seldom even play the game Kav, and when you do it's nothing compared to the skills of the most veteran players. Sing, Butcher, myself, Locutis, etc... could show you what sort of noob you really are. The reason it's hard for you (retread) to compete today is because you never really knew how to play the game. Cruncher is absolutely clueless. Also anther reason the edit should be provided in advance is because there are very few sysops that can produce an edit that is tournament worthy. Vader's edit's are ok, but they are only good for unlimited turn game and noob status. A good edit has to be well balanced. Take the last BOTE edit for example. That edit was destined to be a stalemate. Some of you retreads really need to get a clue. You've been away too long, we have color televisions now.

I agree 100%, but perhaps 180 degrees from your thought. The difference is the ability to think on your feet, not 2 weeks of practise with known settings.

Well put, Kav. I'm beginning to think Ground Zeroes do not have the ability to adjust on the fly when something new is discovered in the game. Oh my god, they have to write a new script for it!

The difference is is Kav or Timberwolf have no abilities so it wouldn't matter if they practiced or not. Leave the tournament play to the players that can play.

Maybe we should just tell all the sysops to stop posting edits in the rebang thread, being that everyone likes " surprises " !! I, personally rather pick and chose, that is our god given right!!!

We've won 4 tournaments in 3 years so what would you call those? The 1st two had both Boo Inc. and the original Kraaken corps in them.
Ground Zero will be the last winning permacorp still active as this game dies.
You are correct however, ICE 2013 will probably be the last major tourment played in this game.
