So, you're saying that automated kill scripts no longer work in v2? Hence the name "Trade Hugs". It isn't Tradewars without the "War" part availble. This version should be perfect for a builder like you. There's plenty of war without automated kill scripts.

It's macro's and anything that parses a command in the same time frame as the bug/s. To bite on your previous question yes some automated script's are broken to a extent, I.e. script's in general. The very thing you have stated you don't want affected unless the sysop makes that decision are effected by this version. Hand movement, attacks, game-play would not be affected because we are infinity slower than any computer. Not including the non combat based bugs like that randomly appear in the latest iteration of V2. -The webserver appear's to be having issues as well

Then you have an "imposter" testing your server. Based on your comment... Quote: Thrawn has been playing on my server for some time now, testing the latest pre-wide release Beta. He can tell you what works and what does not. I am curious to know what information has been reported to "work and not work" as well as who it was passed to. You and John? Perhaps John can step in and clarify that my husband has been actively testing the wide beta and submitting reports. Because he never has played for any "length of time" on your server, and I know where he is, where he has been, and what he feels about this whole issue between v1/v2/scripts/no scripts.

Thrawn (real or imposter) never reported anything to me. I presumed he was in communication with JP. I did receive one e-mail from JP cc'd to Thrawn asking if we had found any bugs. I replied to "all" with my findings.

Ultimately, it's JP's decision on what to fix and what to keep in regard to the timing issues. But, I can see that if you were used to, or counted on commands being executed in a burst macro, the timing that JP put into place to save the integrity of the data as processors and the internet in general allow for faster processing, I don't see how any software can withstand that kind of beating without eventually breaking entirely. So, there was a need to have some timing limitations. I think the fastest any command can execute now is 2ms. If you rewrite your scripts knowing that 2ms is the "speed limit" for processing commands, then maybe things will work again. I don't know, I don't write TWX scripts. If it needs fine tuning to make the game more enjoyable for all then you have got to let JP know, in at least a respectful manner.

We had received a message about the installation of the next pre-release BETA and here is what was reported: Quote: I see no issues at the moment. Install was smooth and we jumped in to play a bit, ran a few scripts and nothing appeared out of the normal. We then focused on our server-side scripts- mainly the traversing games. I had one glitch, but it was a coding error on my part. Everything seems to be fine. Since then, we have been back on v1 finishing the entire "traversing games" project. And you still have an imposter using his alias on your server.

You called my husband "Hilter", which is a personal attack by any standard. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a link as it was moved to another section we have no access to. Being from the older generation myself, you should be familiar with the expression "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones".

Regardless what some in the community may have you believe some of us have worked/are working with JP directly, behind the scenes to fix said issues. I have been personally asked in the past not to publish bugs on this forum by him for fear of exploitation while he fixes said issues. It's these issues that I would like to see fixed, part of these issues is the timing and timing related problems that lead to the unreleased bugs. I understand JP has other obligations, however a resounding fear is that we the players will have another 10 year hiatus with two broken version's instead of one. Or just some noob who thought "Thrawn" was a cool alias without knowing of you and your husband and your work with TW. I have quite a few players coming from Canada.

Lady, I have never referred to anyone as "Hitler", nor "Hilter", let alone your husband. Not an American citizen but lived there from 1987 to 2007. Our four children still live there, as do both of our grandchildren. We both have a great fondness for the United States. Particularly for those who serve in the Armed Services. Kav

Second time I've lost a post. Version 2 is broken. We told JP when he started all these changes to slow down and work on repairing the bugs first. There's no way we can find and report all the bugs in v2, and I'm sure he doesn't have enough time to invest years in this version to make it right. I'll say it again: 1) Find the bug/make a change. 2) BETA TEST, BETA TEST, AND MORE BETA TESTING. 3) Release the repaired version. REPEAT STEPS 1 THROUGH 3 If he had done this from the start we'd have a playable version now. Now I'm going to copy this post before I hit the submit button so I don't have to go through this again.
