As far as I know, I do not have the capability of banning/warning people.
I can lock threads, and when I do warn people, it is over IM and not the official "warn user" function. Mob could best answer as to whether or not a mod has that capacity.

Heh. I've been here a very long time, and I can tell you for a fact that every discussion on this website that isn't tradewars development/script related(and even some that are) will need to be locked after 14 pages.

I still do not understand why moderators feel compelled to lock threads in the OD forum because in their opinion they are off topic. I'm getting kinda fed up with it. Lock if smack, obscenity, racism, etc., but OT?

When I say off topic, I mean it goes to personal assults instead of whatever ya'll are talking about. EVERY one of the topics I locked had one form or another or personal attacks. To be honest I'd rather just reopen the smack forum. I don't care what everyone talks about. As long as Im not getting report after report of smack in OD.

If there is a different way people would like to see things done here I'm always up for suggestions. Locking those three topics seemed the right thing to do but if some feel that there was a good convo going and I ruined it by locking them then by all means make a suggestion on how we could have dealt with it differently. We have had mods that go lock crazy, of which they no longer mod here. I consider myself last resort when it gets out of hand. Shrug...mobby no perfect. Mobby want to make traders happy.

I think all topics stray but if they eventually get back on topic does it really matter? Dunno but there are always a couple that will push the issue as far as possible and then run behind the "Report Button" after a minor edit so theirs doesn't look quite as offensive
