I have active characters in multiple games, 3 different servers right now.

None of which are really giving me any competition, but a nice way to fire-up the brain in the morning with my first cups of coffee, and unwind at the end of the day. I don't watch much TV.

I frequent here at the forums. But I no longer play.

34 people contributed to my helper project on Kickstarter, and all but about 3 of them were people I don't know personally... presumably active players.

I occasionally visit, but no longer play.

It has been probably a year ago since I last played a game, and that was just messing around for a day or two. Maybe played a couple of games in the year before that. I doubt I could even halfway play against decent competition in a solo unlim anymore.

I probably play around 5 or 6 games a year competitively. A couple of those would be annual tournaments. I have been known to jump into a game to test a new script, practice for an upcoming tourney, or maybe just because I'm in the mood for a quick kill. If it's the last one, it's usually someone I don't necessarily like very much. laff

Only played a couple games this year. Wouldn't mind playing in a tournament (on a v1.03 Server).

ICE 2013 will be held on a v1 server in January. I think we're shooting for January 26, 2013.

Actually that's not a true statistic to determine active players. Those are unique IP connections on TWGS servers. National statistics show that 94% of internet users have a dynamic IP address, meaning their IP can change quite often.

So given this fact, a closer figure would be something like this:
5846 / 94 = (62 unique players that have static IP address's)
So the other 94% had dynamic IP's
5846 - 62 = (5748 dynamic connections)
Consider that each dynamic IP changes around 50 times a year on average.
5748 / 50 = (115 unique players that have dynamic IP address's)

60 + 115 = (175 actual player connections)

This may not be an exact figure, but it's much closer to being correct than the figure EIS shows.

Dynamic IP addresses usually remain within the same netblock, though. JP could merge connections from the same netblock and probably get a pretty good estimate.

I don't pay for a static IP, but mine is more static than dynamic. The only time my IP changes is when I have to reset the cable modem, which rarely happens.

And that's only the v2 servers.
