I am kind of trying to do something similar to Helix. When I went looking for an unused game to try out a starting script I wanted to make a simple one that would drop a fighter in every sector outside of FedSpace and trade whenever there was a port. I figured that with unlimited turns, if I just sent "p*****" whenever there was a port, by the time that I finished I would have enough credits for my next phase.

Ugly, I know.

part of my script is:
Code:
setVar $i 11
while $i < SECTORS
  if $i = STARDOCK
    goto :next
  end
# Skipping ahead
:next
  add $i 1
end

I have not ever had it try to drop a fighter in sectors 1-10, but it keeps dropping fighters at Stardock! Helix, I cannot imagine that you are having this problem! Do any of you have any ideas? I would appreciate any help.

Happy Memorial Day!

I really was trying to do my schoolwork! However, it is boring, and my mind wanders. I decided to continue my "ugly" pattern and avoid FedSpace. I ran SWATH's world trade script for long enough to purchase more fighters than there are sectors. I need to add an array of inaccessible sectors to visit after removing the avoids, but for now, back to schoolwork!

Code:
setVar $i 11
while ($i <= SECTORS)
   if ($i = STARDOCK)
      echo "**" STARDOCK
      pause
      goto :next
   end
# Skipping ahead
:next
add $i 1
end

Try that.... or just make a simple script:
echo "**" STARDOCK " - " SECTORS

if it does not echo STARDOCK & SECTORS 's then you have never been to STARDOCK or your database has an issue.

Thanks, TOyman! I tried that and it showed both numbers.

Have a great day!

I ran my script for several hours without a problem, but ran out of turns. When I went to run it today it ran fine, kicked me to the server menu, and then disconnected me. This was my log:

Our final offer is 16,630 credits.
Your offer [16,630] ? 16262
Very well, we'll take that offer.
For your great trading you receive 2 experience point(s).

You have 82,738,580 credits and 0 empty cargo holds.

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[15015] (?=Help)? :
TradeWars Game Server Copyright (C) EIS
TWGS v2.20b www.eisonline.com

This is an unregistered TradeWars Game Server

<A> Realm o Strider

<#> Players Online
<!> View game descriptions

<Q> Quit

Selection (? for menu): Timed out...
Connection lost.

I can add a function to watch for that and log back in, but why is that happening? It does not show me timing out in-game, just at the system menu.

As always, thanks for any help that you can provide!
