 The perfect Combo
There has been many debates over the years on which combination is the best when it comes to helpers. I think the most common combinations are Swath/TWX and Zoc/TWX. I have even done the Swath/Zoc/TWX combo. Just curios to see what everyone uses out there.
I personally love Swath for the mapper and bubble finder and I like the "attached" stats bar. Never used swath for anything more than that. I for the most part use Zoc/TWX. I like the new versions of Zoc because of the TAB features. 1 window and can have a few games running in different tabs. Still have to have multiple TWX's running, but can live with that as I mostly use bot for script loading. Also like Zoc's look and feel, is not as choppy as swath. I have tried other helpers out there including TWAR, GATH, J-TWAT, ATTAC, and KOKUA.
Are there any others out there that I am missing. I recently got GATH again and I like the status/information bar at the bottom but more pieces of information would be nice. Also a few more hot keys would be nice too.
Kokua looked promising, but development never finished. Attac is very similar to swath except the mapper is not as nice.
Just stirring some script/helper conversation.

Just stirring some script/helper conversation. I have used all thee above mentioned but I currently use Putty or Kevterm over ZOC since they are freeware. I tried ZOC but never bought it so I moved on. I hated the name on J-TWAT (hehe) so I quit using it. I used KOKUA for a while but it crashed to much.

I'm writing my own. I'd like to hear more about what you liked or didn't like about all those helpers you tried... or anything you'd like to see.

Having a stats bar, visual mapper. If your getting ambiucious maybe little side windows that you can toggle on or off (comms, fig hits, mine hits, combat, MCIC) just for a few ideas. Is a lot that could be done. Today I contacted the creators of GATH. I am attempting to get them to release the soource code since they are not going to further develop it or support it. It is currently free anyway. Was written in Delphi 7. I don't know Delphi but I know a few other languages so hopefully I can pick it up if they release it.

 Re: The perfect Combo
I've run the 3 program combo Zoc/TWX/Swath.
Zoc for speed, Swath for visabilty (can make the fonts larger), and TWX scripts.
I wish we could make Zoc as bright as Swath, but that's me. I've been "blind as a bat" all my life.

 Re: The perfect Combo
Yes, that would be awesome. Just make sure they can attach to the main window and are not separate. Sux when you have multiple games going and have multiple status windows up and your trying to figure out which is which. How far are you from a beta version?

I keep feeling like it's close, because I've written so much... but then I realize there's so much more to write. At least it's recently started to become a GUI program and not just esoteric parser and database stuff. I've written a Java terminal component that's blazing fast. Working on that more today... Tuesday's my mini-weekend.

 Re: The perfect Combo
Wow!!!!
Pretty colors!
I may be having a flash-back! LOL
I'm going to have to tinker Zoc, maybe BH can point me to the font setting.

I'm going to have to tinker Zoc, maybe BH can point me to the font setting. Options Edit Session Profile. The new versions of Zoc can be tricky with set up and emulation. I think I have it set to VT-102 instead of Ansi. Maybe someone else knows a better setting.
