Re: Does anyone have an idea here?
The IP that TWGS sends to EIS is encrypted. It is also not associated with any other data, so it isn't used for any purposes other than tracking the number of unique "hits" on the game. This is no different from the way an IP address is used in web traffic tracking.

If you have enough neighbors with no idea of what wireless security is, you can have a boatload of IPs without moving your computer.
You could probably take a laptop to the food court at your neighborhood mall, and find a few wireless hotspots there too.
I wont even get into using your friends phones...

So you are either lying or the Op of that server is giving out information that he shouldn't be giving out. That's just funny man, why so aggressive? Let's just cool down. Let me take this apart. You think I'm lying because I was wondering if this fit anyone's MO. On it's face, think it through, does that make any sense? Umm I don't have that person's IP I only have the aforementioned knowledge concerning a player who is duping. Chilllllll out, not trying to start a war here. Only asked a question.

Re: Does anyone have an idea here?
Not trying to start a war.
Just dont like to think that Ops are giving out IP information.
Being that a) you know that a person you are playing against and 3 of his teammates have different IPs, b) they all come from the same physical address, c) you are not the Op of UTW d) you were avoiding my question
just leads me to think something is not adding up.
now you say you just have knowledge of this information.
and my question remains the same...
How do you come by this information without having sysop abilities if the Op is not giving out information that he shouldn't be.
We should probably get Sage in on this conversation.

We should probably get Sage in on this conversation. This is the last time I ask a simple question here. I only know this because we messaged the op and said we suspected the other team of duping and asked if he would check it out. But you are determined to turn this simple question into a federal case and blame the victims of a Dupe for the crime of what? I really didn't need this after that game and it makes me lose faith in what was once considered "the community" Zip has left the house ever wonder why tradewars is losing players?

Isnt that alittle unfair? I mean the only one here that seems to take issue is legion. Hope you have a better evening.

More interesting is how you found out that the IP's were all different but coming from the same address. Sage is good about checking for dupes at UTW. I ICQed him once about a duper named DUPE and he checked and found out the 2 people were playing from the same Class C subnet but not the same IP. To me thats a duper so I just bailed on the game. It isnt a privacy issue just vote with your feet. H

From Kaus: Isnt that alittle unfair? I mean the only one here that seems to take issue is legion. Hope you have a better evening. Thanks man I think I just found out who it was. From what I suspect it was no one here. I can take this up with him in private..... Let's let our tradewars peeps know that cheating will not win them any favors in the game or in the community of players. We really don't need to rip their heads off. I think just letting them know is good enough. . Now Zip has left the building - HONEST!
