I have tried using revhelper on v2 but alot of the scripts don't work the main one is the login/setup script. can anyone tell me how to fix it so this will work with version 2. I would go play on a v1.x server but would rather play locally to get the dust knocked off before attempting a live game. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you're willing to do it, we could work to get it working again on my beta server at http://twgs.classictw.com. If I can work with you for awhile, I can try a few things and see if we can get it to connect. I recently made a change to the @ screen to try to make it behave better with older scripts and helpers. It's unfortunate that these tools scripted on non-gameplay-related triggers, because those aren't guaranteed to remain the same. But if I can see exactly what change is causing a problem, I might be able to find a compromise solutation that allows me to make the changes I want without breaking anything.

There was another change Tradewars vs Trade Wars at the game menu? I think most changed the prompt to just look for server... it was a while ago so I might be a little off.

If that's all it is, I'm sure we could get it cleaned up using the same approach I've used for the @ screen. What I'm doing on the @ screen is I output the word "hundredths", then backspace back over it so people won't see it, but scripts will. Problem solved.

I would love to help out to get these running right on the new version. I have to warn you though, when it comes to scripting languages I am a dummy and freely admit it. But I can follow directions :D

Are you using ZOC4? Might have to change to the path it is looking for ZOC6 or whatever the folder is it's in.
What OS winxp or Win7?
My guess is that the path is incorrect to the _login.zrx
if Win7 is would be C:\Program Files(x86)\ZOC4\Script\_login.zrx

Yeah, some of this might be outside of TWGS. A good test might be to try to get going on a v1.03 server first, then once that's clean, let's see if we can get you into a game on v2.

okay i checked and I am running 32 bit win7 so there is not 2 program files. So i completely removed zoc from my system and reinstalled just to make sure. Still getting the same error in TWGS v2. It works fine on the V1.03 server that I tried just to test.

Ok, let me try something on the v2 startup screen and see if it makes a difference. I'll let you know when I have that up.

Since zoc is not a compiled language it is user repairable.
Simple fix ..
locate in the login script the words TradeWars and replace it with Server
and try it out in both versions .. save John the hassle of possibly including something that will break a more popular helper "Swath"

Just my take on this ...

Hey John Vid helped me and we got it worked out, the script was trying to look for variables that aren't in V2 like ship delay and max command info from the login screen. It is all working now thanks so much.
