Asking for the abort display toggle will enable me to offer at least one game that may be TWX free.

There is a very simple way for JP to render the twixie pixies impotent. Most of their scripts depend on the internal TWX database, which is highly syntax sensitive, and not susceptible to script correction/edit; the TWX source code would have to be changed if the port and warp data format were changed back to the HVS display for example. Muller (Xide) obviously could rewrite it, probably EP also, but a toggle for HVS display mode might be the best way to get back to the "original" game.

I admit that it would give old time script writers an advantage, but I for one haven't written an AFK or bot script for more than 15 years and have never used an AFK one. I suspect that whoever is left of the old ones might share my attitude and not publish "kill baby seal" scripts.

Comet, why you CBY? Man...

It's getting good. There's a red in there now. Xanos. I randomly found him where he got towed out of fed. Popped his cloak, but he has too many figs...

This is the natural evolution of a truce game. You teach
players to play only during the truce; tradehugs. Uh-oh,
truce is over, hafta come back next bang...

Of course it would give any script writer an advantage. Duh!
I'm sure the new KBS (kill baby seals) scripts will be even
better! I kinda like that, KBS scripts...hmmm.

Hvs would not hinder those whom writemore than the time it took to rewrite the database. Honestly I can't believe people are so engulfed with ways to slow it down. You know Darn well alls that will do is give fewer people more ability. Twx is open source with multiple people supporting it.

This makes learning the language and using it very accessible to those with the time and desire. What you purpose with this hvs thing is akin to when twx first came out and only xide and afew others had it. You will likely get your results but I dont think you will like them.

TWX will work on HVS, just remove the spaces. TWX started on HVS, did it not?

Yes, I did. Do you really want me to respond? It may get another thread locked. LOL

The topic of this tread is Truce on Cruncher's TW....

I don't want truces, I don't want or use any sysop edits to make the game "easer" to play.

If anything, my games are more difficult to play than builders games. I've used some of the new delay settings to discourage heavy script play, and data mining. I've asked for one more toggle for one game, and it's been denied, again.

You can count on me to try to persuade public opinion on this topic and ask for this toggle again in the future.

I love Kav's analogy, Killing Baby Seals or KBS scripts; those are the ones I want to put a stop to in at least ONE game on my server. Kav has the opinion that the root of this evil is in the dbase, and he may be right. But, Kav also does not use Swath, and Swath also has a very powerful dbase tool.

I would love to be able to promote a style of play I believe players would enjoy without "crippling" the game so that it's barely recognizable or too slow for even at the keys players to enjoy.

We got that in your previous posts. Why are you dodging the question?

Why would you post exactually what i wrote about HVS in response to my HVS post?

Regurgitating the same thng doesnt emphasize your previous point. Rather you disrupt the flow of the thread conversation, which in all honesty makes you look like a troll. Are you simply trolling your own thread?

I don't see a question in your post, just a statement.

If you want to keep this game in the realm of IT professionals, programmers and geeks, then yes, it seems TWX may be easy for them to write.

But, the fact remains that there are but a few players who truely do know how to write scripts. I was corped with two very good script writters. For them, the fun isn't playing the game, it's writting successful scripts. Most worked some did not.

My target players are not script writters, they are not IP professionals, but they probably do have to be at least a little geekie to want to play this game.

So, what is your question?

You and Kav don't make a majority of any sort.

I'll agree that Kav and I are in the minority mindset of the people who post in this forum.
