 Re: HHT official Thread.
Having a little trouble running T0yman's script, but here is my "manual" scan of deaths in game.
Corp/Name/Deaths
0 Darkman Almighty = 7 0 Sinthia = 1 0 Kelvanan = 0 0 Nerfman = 8 0 a = 0 0 Polaris = 3
1 Cruncher = 0
2 Big Bad Wolf = 4
3 Hehe = 0
4 Micro = 5 4 Relic = 10
5 ? = 2 5 Jack = 0 5 Me = 0
7 Tesler = 0 7 Guy = 0 7 swamprat = 0
And for those of you who are so observant you want to know the 18th player Observer RP = 0

 Re: HHT official Thread.
OK, it appears this game may take a while to conclude. There are more players than expected, that's a good thing. But the deaths are not mounting up.
Is this because peeps are cowering at dock and not venturing forth to their execution? Is it because the time limit is set to low and there's not time to venture forth and be killed after doing your PPT? Is it because the universe it too big?
Not gonna change anything, but just courious.
I also want to say I'm impressed that we're running this game, and sofar I've not seen any serious smack. (If this serves as a reminder, remember this is NOT a smack thread). Thanks to all for your participation. Sofar this has been fun, and the last few "tournaments" I've run have been a bit of a headache!

RP Maybe a few too many turns for the time limit, or not enough time for the turns allowed. I've had opportunity to kill 3-4 times, but passed, they were too weak and not my main targets. (I took pitty upon them.) Thanks for hosting this on the spir of the moment! I hope we're giving your server enough of a work out, and if players have more than 3 hours to play, they are venturing into your other games, so that's very good.

 Re: HHT official Thread.
With that, it appears that C5 is monitoring who is in the game since they seem to show every time I show within a minute or two. We have a 3 hour TL for a reason, and on that note for me this tournie is over. I do not mind losing but I tried to play within the guidelines set forth by the sysop. Plus they must live in michigan somewhere cause there is no way I can beat their pings.
Good setup for the game RP, since I won't be playing if you need help with that script give me a shout and we can work it out.

One thing this game as taught me, is that the determined will always come out on top. They may loose a game, but they adapt and try again till they win. If you know the game, know scripts, it doesn't really matter what changes JP makes to the game, they can adapt.

I tried to level the pings with the settings, but you either make the game to slow to tolerate, or there's always those with the slower pings. Not sure how to compensate for that and make it fair. I also tried to "discourage" monitoring by adding the 5 minute login penalty so to that bots that log in to check and log out, eat your time faster. Perhaps I should have made the penalty bigger, but then what about those who get bumped off because of internet burps? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this CLV monitoring thing but it appears there's no way to really stop it. But it's seeming to be the cause of a lot of the ghosting going on as well.

Oh I understand and I would rather just walk away than ask for a change mid game. I need to write a script for monitoring the login in screen and if it sees someone sitting at the game letter but not in the game ban them for 1 hour and boot them. CLV /data mining can be stopped by hiding the first 1 hour / 1 minute / some other options I don't remember off the top of my head. This is a new version and there is no way to predict how someone will bend the game to meet their needs. I am in NO WAY saying anyone CHEATED, they are just playing like some other players I know that I said I would never play with or against again.

The 5 min relog penalty is only going to penalize their in-game time. They don't log into the game to gleen info from the High Scores List (CLV) In General Editor H, Opton 5 - High Score Update mode, your options are: 0) On demand 1) At Extern 2) Hourly 3) Half-daily They have scripts that monitor the CLV screen from outside the game at the High Scores List. Their scripts allert them to enter the game whenever certain things happen, scores change, alignment changes, ships change, corps change... when they know there's activity, then they come in. The average "Joe" playing this game, comes in, runs their turns / 3 hours, and logs off. These guys coordinate monitoring. This is why Vid loves to play TL games, he uses this script to easily dominate. This is a private script, not publically available.

They don't log into the game to gleen info from the High Scores List (CLV) Cruncher, you beat me to the punch, I was just logging into TEDIT to see what the options were for this setting. RP, Setting a time limit prevents them from monitoring the CLV from inside the game, but you can still viw the High scores from Outside the game. Since they can do this without actually entering the game, the time limit does not apply, and there is no login penalty. Setting option H5 to anything other than "On Demand" prevents them from doing this, becuase the information they are viewing outside the game is delayed and not the same as the live information they can get inside the game.

 Re: HHT official Thread.
You could also turn the node option to not show people online, here is what you see on mine if you hit # 1 Online Selection (? for menu): No names, no game letters
