Ok. I do not know what I'm doing wrong but I cannot get swath to recognize the latest JDK7. I'm thinking it's because it's the 64 bit version for my Windows 7 machine and Swath can only deal with 32 bit? Am I stuck with 6 and will it even work on a Windows 7 machine for compiling scripts?

Since SWATH is a 32-bit program, you need to download and install the 32-bit version of JDK 7 (jdk-7-windows-i586.exe). I just did and can confirm that it is working just fine.

Just because you are running a 64-bit Windows version (I do as well), does not mean every program you run have to be 64-bit. Most programs doesn't benefit from being 64-bit (unless they need to access more than 4 GB RAM and such).

Wow! ... I never expected you to reply to my post. I am honored!

I am user #439 and proud of it! (lolol)

I thought that was the case but each time I tried to download the 32 bit version, it kept failing. I do have the old version still installed on my machine and it used to work. Not sure why it doesn't now. Probably has something to do with it being Mindows 7.

I will try again and see what happens. Thanks for the help.

It'll be ironic if SWATH runs better on Linux than Windows. Way to go, Microsoft!

It doesn't, it does run but it is extremely laggy.

Runs perfectly for me, and fast, too. *shrug*

Ok since I got you all here. What does it mean when the output screen from trying to compile the scripts keeps telling me the script is 'deprecated'

A deprecated API feature is one that the developer decided was bad for some reason, and replaced with a better way of doing the same thing. The old feature still works, but the compiler warns you whenever you use it.

Deprecation warnings alone will not prevent your scripts from compiling.

I was running Swath in Ubuntu 11.04/Wine and it ran fine until someone on your team start running colies or doing a buydown while you sitting in the sector. If I was the one running everything was fine. Maybe something has changed in wine.... maybe I should try it again ;)
