There are still several ways to eliminate using move turns when cashing at adjacent ports. That's something else I'll keep to myself. :P

And I think that the bug isn't shield riding but actually the fact that a ship that cannot land, can still attack shields and figs on the planet.

At best they will drop 250 armid mines in the sector where the invader landed on the planet, move the planet into the deepest part of an unused bubble, set a killer planet in the door of the bubble with somone on it and then wait on thier corpies to come save them. Meanwhile you load the planet they landed on with a bunch of figs and set it at 100% military reaction and then remove the shields. As soon as they hit any key the MR blows the ship, and the 250 armids will get the pod when the pod flees back to the original sector. You then safely move the planets back to your base knowing that an enemy player will be out for the rest of the day. Ask Xanos if you don't believe me.

I'm pretty sure that Ground Zero winning the ICE tourney wasn't a bug, but Boo Inc's loss in that tournament could be considered a bug. Choice of corp members would be the biggest. Maybe that would be a boo boo instead of a bug. Hence the name Boo Boo Inc. LAFF

I guess I blew it. I should have just trusted that eventually you'd do the right thing, even though you currently are not doing the right thing, and are actively pushing for people to stop running my software, and are suggesting that if they do, you'll crash their server. I should learn to be more patient.

If you want to debate the merits of certain tactics, start another thread please.
JP, I understand why you made the change to charge turns for flee moves.
It would have unbalanced the game for those who did not know about it.
Tactics would have eventually changed as news of the strategy got out, so it was best to nip it in the bud.
I have not seen D threatening to crash anyone's server JP, and I know he wouldn't do that.

Come on people, you are better than this! If you want to start a pissing match please do it somewhere else.

I have been playing this game since god was a child and I swear, I have never heard of that!@


I don't know who first figured it out, but we did use that back in the 90's on the HVS game.

The "fix" this bug back to a bug again, as JP said would have only effected the enemy riding shields that Helix and Big D described. If we're using a planet to "taxi" our corpies around it was no big deal if they lifted to the sector upon arrival, but that IS a big deal if you're trying to ride the enemy shields back.

Personally, if I see an enemy planet laying about unattended, I cap it and make it my own. I don't sit around and wait for someone to move it back to base, I play TL games, I have better things to do. :roll:
