The fix for this is to have all private hails go to the mail system while this setting is on. H Ah.. now here's a brilliant idea!

Kraaken uses their knowledge of the game...They understand every aspect of the game...they are always 2 steps ahead... I'm sorry but to think of this idea...yes its brillant ! And i learned how to do this from watching them... You really dont understand how well they know the game...

Big D wrote: Interactive sub prompts and abort display are two completely different things. ISP OFF = You don't see messages while you are at sub prompts Abort display = You don't see certain prompts either by using spaces or setting the CN9 key to "all keys" I would prefer to never abort display - but rather to put messages "on hold" until you are done running your routine. In HVS the messages "hold" then as soon you stop your routine they come flooding to you all at once. I actually like that. But, I think JP is working on a way to have the "on hold" messages go to the mail sysem so you can retreive them when you're ready.

I've spent a great deal of time talking to Vid, yes I do understand how well they know this game. Vid and Sing probably know the mechanics of this game, and game play better than anyone else, including JP. However, what they don't understand is their way is NOT they way everyone else prefers to play.

Every tactic that you don't understand doesn't necessarily need a programming change to prevent it.

I still think it will not have the desired effect though.

Stick to the point. The settings we are talking about are optional, up to the sysop to set. You dont like the settings, dont play there. Its simple, vote with your feet. Tradewars is about adapting. So adapt. H

Every tactic that you don't understand doesn't necessarily need a programming change to prevent it. And again, this goes back you "you had a static game for 8 years". Nothing better to do than to examine it down to the last ms. You guys are weak, you depend upon your scripts to heavily. The "Elite" of the '90s never had a static game, our game was always changing, and us along with it. I've been accused of all mannor of "cheating" until I explained how things worked. And once again, the game I played the majority of the 90's was the old HVS game. An entirely different animal than TWGS. And that was me on the MajorNet forum sharing what I knew and answering questions. I'd like to see any of today's TWGS script kiddies try to play HVS. I don't always agree with every change JP makes, and there are some I'd like that he does not. JP has a great many people he relies on for advice and it's his final decision what becomes of his game. I just happen to be the one that makes the most noise, but I see more are joining in. And again, you don't have to play the beta, you can stay on 2.07.

 Re: Bug reports
Cruncher you are not helping, please take your smack to the other forum. This is about the beta. Oso should lock this thread, it is a tolal waste and has nothing to do with bugs.
At least be accurate, this game hasnt been out of beta for more than 20 years. 1.03 was a beta

H You're right, it would be nice to get it out of beta before the next decade. in order to do that we need players to report the bugs they discover or stop with unsubstantiated rumors and play the version they're most comfortable playing.
