H Thank you for making my point for me. '10 - 20', is all there is. How does a company, traditionally, increase those numbers?

 Re: Smack talk...
Helix that is a great point, but to LoneStar's point... 200 people for something on this board is like saying a million, at this point allot of people are out for the summer, and I don’t believe there are 200 active users on this board!! And by active I mean people who post and reply to other user post... It is a great point that you make about it taking allot to change something this big, but what could it hurt? If we give it a swing and things can’t be controlled and don’t make things better and easier for the rest of the forum, take it away again! I think that giving everyone a place to take the gloves off and let lose would eliminate that kind of post from other sections of the forum and as I have said before make it easier for you moderators! And by bringing in someone new, not necessarily me (thanks to Big D and Jace for their vote) you would prevent any past hostilities for creating problems, if I remove a post the writer will know it is going to happen before it happens! So far about 20 people have voted... 10 for and 7 against, so again a narrow divide! However... what could it hurt? I've seen this being closed drive at least 2 good players away from active posting... Just my 2 cents... (And as Helix says "just sayin" - love you Helix!! Do you have a trade mark on that catch phrase?? )

But then it did get pretty nasty. Not good smack at all, but vulgar, insulting the handicaped, degrading women. It's one thing to pound on your chest, strut around and threaten to #SD# someone the next time you run into them in a game.. that's fun. What the Smack forum evolved into wasn't fun. I even offered to Mod it. Hehe...

 Re: Smack talk...
I have several forums that I have hosted for years. I removed any kind of smack talk threads. They are just unproductive. What I replaced them with has been very successful.
It's called "The Never Ending Thread" The idea is the content is of no importance, just the quantity. All the posts that you want to make that are stupid, senseless, baseless or can't find anywhere else to put, you put in this one. Rules of conduct apply but that's it. I have seen one of these with nearly 100,000 posts and the things you find people posting about can be absolutely ridiculous and funny. great reading...

 Re: Smack talk...
To paraphrase a lot of messages in other threads on a different subject: Smack talk is an OPTION, you DON'T have to read it or post in it. If you don't like the OPTION being on, don't play in the threads, but if you do then go for it. No one is making you play in an area you dislike.

Actually its not an option... here. What I don't understand is that if you want to have a smack forum, go have one somewhere else where you can make the rules and do exactly as you wish. You can call it TWSMACK and invite all like-minded TW players and it has no effect on the official TW forum. Then all of you just go crazy with it and have fun. H

H It's good for the rest of us that you don't make the decisions around here then isn't it? I think we'll wait on JP to decide before we go another route thank you. I think that is an excellent idea. H
