best thing you can do is learn to use it. I use some Mombot scripts - buy, mega & neg I've been botted and have botted - not my cup-0-tea. Unlims don't interest me either. I have no idea what a bot chess game is, but I'm pretty sure that's not the style game I would enjoy. And yes, there is something I can do, I can play games with settings that more closely suit the style I prefer to play, just as you can. This forcing a way of playing on people has got to come to a stop. And you wonder why players leave...

 Re: Summer tournament...
So you playing the non bot type of game is going to force others to turn away from bot play and start playing your way?
and this 'bot play' is why people quit tw?

 Re: Boting Teammates...
I always find this distaste of bots interesting. I mean I can understand not wanting to play against a program instead of a person, but if you can get beat by a bunch of unmanned bots you weren't going to win the game anyway. At least one player must be online to make bots an effective tool, otherwise you are almost as good as offline.
The bots today are essentially helpers, with the ability to bot as a side benefit. You have the ability to turn off botting access to corpies if you would like. In fact, I am sure most people who are playing solo games still fire up their bots as a quick way to access scripts and macros.
I guess what my point is (though I realize I am rambling a bit) is that people are treating bots as if they are an automated player. Like it's true AI taking over the place of a person being at the keys. It is just another tool; one that can be used for good or ill at the discretion of the user.
The only point that has been brought up that I agree with (probably by Promethius) is using bots as a way to dupe. If you just pull in people just to be botted so you can have a numbers advantage over someone in a game, that's a scummy tactic IMO.
Obviously it's not a big surprise what stance I take on bots which I why I don't normally bother talking about it. But that's my 2 cents.

MD Ty. Bots are an essential tool for a corp comprised of adults that have families and different schedules. I cant play monday - friday from 7 am till 6 pm because I am working, spending time with the family, etc.... Some of my corpies can only play late at night/early in the morning. You form your corp well, and a human can be at keys through out the day.

The game has turn banks, if you can't play because of family commitments etc, then your turns accumulate to be used when you do have time to play. My argument against botting player's will always be low turn time limit games with turn banks.

But, I guess you don’t read the beta thread, he’s going to make a change that will break most every aggressive script there is right now by changing the way the game displayed a course plot. I’ve you’ve not visited the sector yet, you won’t be able to see the sector number, only (*). And yes, I do realize that clever scripters can get around this, but why bother if the only games using that setting are regulated builders games? FYI, regulated builders games are not my cup-0-tea either. I like aggressive games played against humans, not bots.

That setting will not break any aggressive scripts, just make them faster. You can only pdrop to a sector in which you have a fig. or torp from a sector that has a fig, hence you have already visited it. The (*) will just make parsing the course faster. Lets stop with the insulting language please or the topic gets locked. H

 Re: Boting Teammates...
Right now you can slow a p-drop and foton script without any added changes.
Setting Z in T-Edit Option 2 Planet Move, High setting would put a hamper on that. Option 5 Photon Launch, High setting would put a hamper on that.
There are a few others than can mess with some scripts, it won't break them but it will render them fairly useless.
