Do you think there should be a separate setting for maximum players allowed in the game, or this should be an access mode, so you could have a period of time that only allowed 4 players in, and another period where any number could be in the game? I think for simplicity sake a separate setting would be best, but if ops would want the ability to change this max player setting over the course of the day I could do that.

Prom, warnings are given at 5 minutes, 4, 3, 2 and 1 minute.

I saw the warnings last night in game A.

I might suggest that you give a little more explaination as to what is going to happen. It just gave the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 minute countdown.

You may want to say Server shutting down in...

I also just noticed this, very nice! :)

Holy Cow! Just saw the schedule for game J. That would make for some intereting games with these type settings.

I would make it an access mode, to give the gameop more flexability.

Cruncher, Game A is multiplayer all day, so there shouldn't have been any countdown showing. That's a bug. When you see it under normal circumstances, it will be explicit about what's coming.

Also, the game J access modes are crazy. I just put a bunch of mode changes so we could get a good test of how the game handles them. But obviously ops will be able to do whatever crazy things they want. That's the point of making this so flexible. I don't want to assume what someone will do ;)

Cruncher, at what time did the notification appear in game A? Approaching midnight?

Yes, it was the count down to midnight. Not a bad idea to have for multiplayer games, particularly if running on a BBS. BBS's typically go down for nightly maintenance at midnight for 5 - 10 min or so.

Right now in the old HVS games we do see the global messages that the bbs is closing, but in you're in ALogin playing TWGS there are no global notificatons. Seems I read someone is working on that, but still I would keep it.

Just add a little more description to the message, not just a countdown.

Well, I don't want that to happen in a game that really is set for multiplayer all day. But if you have a BBS that goes down for maintenance at midnight, you could set an access mode entry for 11:55 pm until say 12:10 am with TW closed and then you'd get messages that the game is closing in 5 minutes, etc.

Right, I'm hoping to improve that situation. But having the ability to schedule closed time for the game is a better way to go, I think. Plus, even for TWGS-only games, some people would like to close the game for a bit while extern runs. I don't require it, but I think it's a good idea.

OK that makes sense.
