Hello tradewars community. First I just want to say I'm really amazed that this great game is still around. I use to play, what was it like 20 years ago? haha And a few weeks ago I was just thinking how much fun it was to play text based games like this so I went hunting around and found this. Anyway I wanted to add my 2 cents to the community and host a server. I just got 5 player nodes and wanted to test my server out. It was working fine with just 1 node but seems to be having issues now. Can you guys log in and play around a bit and post if you have any problems? Thanks!

This server locked up last night so we're troubleshooting it. I connected to the server, hit # to see if anyone was online and it just hung. Has anyone else experienced a problem like that? I had to drop carrier and my connection never cleared. Trying to reconnect said "all nodes are used" (5 nodes open), and I'm sure they were tied up with dropped connections like mine.

Ok , not sure how he set up that game .. but Dock is at Terra as well.

Seemed to work today. I rebooted the server when I saw your connection was frozen. My daughter turned off my computer today, so it was off for like 15 min when I found out lol! It's up now though. all 5 slots open!

ok scratch that. I keep getting a "game failed to start" error now. sigh

edit - I shut down the program completely and restarted and now it seems to work. I dunno just seems like every so often it'll just hang and I have to restart the game. So far I haven't been able to keep the server up a full 24 hours without having to reboot it.

You are right , there is definitely something wrong with your server.
May be the operator , may be the program .. but I see extern ran many times each day .. and no set time as I could not determine.

I'm in game now and it looks funky to say the least.

Like I said .. Dock is at Terra , Sol is also there .. this may be what is causing the problems with your server crashes , but I have never tried these setting so I don't know for sure.

Woo! Server has been up for a full day:) Come play. It's quite newbie friendly (since im a newbie again)...

I actually had a similar crash on my beta server today, so hopefully I can track this down and get it fixed.
