I think I may have drunk too much coffee this morning, but I just had a crazy idea. What if a tradewars helper was designed to run on the server instead of the client?

All players on the server would have the same scripting tools and reporting capabilities, which should make the game a bit more balanced.

I think that's already on the 4.xx wish list. :)

I'm actually talking about a program that would be a "Gateway" to the TWGS, in the same way that a BBS can use RLOGIN to integrate TWGS as an external program.

Yeah, exactly like that. Does it work?

There was a very long and somewhat heated discussion on this concept a few years ago. It basically turns TW into a game-in-a-box. When I played, I liked to use as many of my own scripts as possible so you were actually playing against my capabilities and not someone else's scripting.

It can be done, but that still won't stop the ability to run client scripts.
