any news on UTW, sage or UN Owen?

As far as I can tell, all 3 are long gone...

Anyway. I did a little research after Owen made a cryptic post

Turns out that 'U.N. Owen' is a kind of synonym for 'Unknown'. Likely a reference to "U.N. Owen was her?", a theme song in some obscure video game.. or better still.. a reference to a character in a Agatha Cristie novel: And then there were none.

The long and short of it is... my gut tells me that UTW, is gone forever. Some kind of social-expirement that ended just mysteriously as it started. I still think it odd that Rames alias was Bob, the 'real life' name of Sage.

Wow, that is a very strange post, aside from the obvious fact that he completely avoids the context of the entire thread, however responding within a day of having his handle mentioned and then fades yet again from sight. More than that though what odd wording in his reply: (1) “You rang? [“Rang” huh?]”, (2) “I am the U.N. Owen one” [What now, there was never any other, so why state the obvious, being that it is his own account being used to post the message?]”, (3) “think of em [Who Sage? Great so he does know after all, so why not just address everyone’s concerns?] and I will appear”, and (4) “What did you need friend?” [Was that really not already made obvious?]. In all seriousness that post reads similarly to something an autobot would post. By-the-by, U.N. Owen’s infamous mastermind of a server (at the time) had been down for nearly a week, Sage had been MIA, so Mr. Owen suddenly decides to write riddles?


This is entire situation is highly curious (or perhaps suspect), while intriguing, indeed:

Space Ghost’s last known post was here at EIS on 2/7/2011.

Sage’s last known post was here at EIS on 2/13/2011.

A post was made at ultimatetw.com on 2/17/2011 regarding the server being down, also several other subsequent posts were made, dating until (within another thread) 4/23/2011, although all avoid in reply by UTW staff.

An individual here at EIS made a post informing everybody of SG’ unfortunate passing on or near 2/17/2011 and another poster commented also on 2/17/2011 that they had just spoken to him the other day.

1. We know that both Sage and SG certainly did share that same high-strung overbearing morality.
2. That they both also seemed to either like or dislike the same posters here at EIS.
3. If I correctly recall SG had in the past vigorously stood in defense of both Sage and UTW, while also establishing himself as a regular player at UTW.
4. If the UTW server is located in Canada, Sage experiencing personal issues should not affect it nor should the presently rampaging East coast weather conditions. Also since U.N. Owen had posted shortly after his server went down and being that he does not seem at all too concerned about, we know that he in fact (or at least) does have access to the Internet.

Personally, I had always suspected that Sage and U.N. Owen were in fact one in the same (as there is certain relative aspects between them both), although the concept of Sage actually being Space Ghost had never occurred to me, but strangely that idea (which appears to already be a circulating rumor) very much makes such sense.

Also to note, the domain record for ultimatetw.com is a bit odd (U.N. Owen being out of Canada is supposed to own everything, though the site seems to belong to a Robert Rappaport out of Florida, also listing a technician of Dennis Ford out of Washington with a bad address and a nonexistent/recordless email address/Website: http://candcweb.com):

And per Alexio in 2009 had stated that he knew Mr. Rappaport in Florida whom was a big time cheater and BBS Operator for Through the looking glass. So it appears that whichever way this is to be sliced something covert did take place back in February (aside from Space Ghost passing).

So, I am the unkown one, well alright there you have it then. All things considered that's berry interesting... I can't wait to see what is next, let me guess, Topsy Kretts?

Sage and SG aren't the same person. Keep in
mind that some people here actually knew SG,
and some people here actually talked with Sage.
Very different people.

Also, Owen is from Canada, Sage is from Florida,
SG lived in neither.

If I had to guess, I would say that Sage was
running the machine on a co-loc, lost his job,
and couldn't afford to keep it going.

Well presuming he was playing parts or acting, either somebody (friend, family, TW-buddy, etc.) could have made a prearranged post using his account either as a last wish or final favor sort of thing, somebody could have been or gained access to U.N. Owen's account, or he could have setup a cron/script-automation that was scanning EIS waiting for keywords or something similar (as an additional thought on this idea perhaps there was supposed to be more to come but unfortunately the script stalled out or something). Also to ponder is that rarely were both Sage and U.N. Owen in the same place in time and Sage and SG both exhibited very similar temperaments.

Also even presuming he did lose his job, he would still of had at least until the end of the month before having to worry about renewing his bills and would of had enough time to make a post letting people know at the very least that he was going to have to take an unplanned leave from hosting TW or whatever and even asked for somebody to stand in for him temporarily or to contact U.N. Owen to make other arrangements for the time being; and was not the server supposed to be in Canada along with U.N. Owen?

Sort of wild ideas I realize, but for all of this to go down like this is far more than beyond just being strange, and considering U.N. Owen's very oddly stated and out of context post, it just adds to the mystery... Hey though don't forget that his name was "Space Ghost" after all and that he utterly adored all hallows eve. What would be cooler than to be able to speak from beyond the grave at least through another character!

Except some of us have talked to them on the phone,
SG had met several people here in person, and their
IP addresses are consistently in their respective states.

A few years ago SG and I played in a game on UTW
together, and we talked on the phone several times
about it. He'd have to be the world's best actor.
Now maybe he was helping Sage with the finances,
that might explain the timing.

Owen is consistently in Canada on the same ISP,
Sage is consistently in Florida on the same ISP.
Sage has always been very personal, and kept to
himself.

The server was never in Canada, it has always
been hosted on a west-coast server. That's why
west coasters got the best pings.

I've had the pleasure of both meeting SG and most recently I had many telephone conversations with him when I returned to TW. He's still reading this forum and I can almost hear him laughing and rattling off his own version of this conspiracy therory. He's lovin' every minute of it!

But SG has most definately crossed over, his widow called me only hours after he passed away. Now, is U.N. Owen channeling SG now? Humm... what's that guys name who talks to spirits? Maybe we need to give him a call.
