well i remember why i dont join games in progress. joined archies solo and they let me float for 10mins before i had 2 ppl chasing me down

Unlims, especially, are like that. The most important thing to learn is how to choose games. This is more than just the age of the game, it's also the playing style of those involved. There are slow servers where people aren't as aggressive.

im by no means upset, i used to do it. however it was a turnbased solo game. they gave me less then 1k turns (10mins) before hunting me down i think its cuz they were colonising

whats the fun in killin a guy wiht 250figs in starter ship when u got 65k figs? =) mebbe ill try again or mebbe we lost another for the community for another year or 2

Like sing said, one game on one server doesn't represent all games on all servers. If you were indeed a former non-noob coming back I would imagine you would do a google search for TW2002 or Trade Wars or some such. You would come across V'Ger's server which incidentally has a builder game where the style of play is not as aggressive as what you came across.

With all the dead links out there, it's probably not a good idea to tell someone to google tw2002 or tradewars. The server he's refering to is called Ice 9:

Last I saw, Ice-9 builders game is closed, you must contact V'Ger to get in now. Very nice.. keeps all the dupes out. Heheh..
