Only 1% of them even cared enough to vote about it. So should we cater to the less than 1%? H hmm.. not that it matters, but it looks like you said 1600 members. Unless my english is failing.. which its known to before. I didn't know you could post here without joining first.

Flame wars and Smack have always been a part of this game, it is a war game and physiological warfare can be just as important as good game strategy. Opt-In or Opt-Out either way works. Smack isn’t for everyone, but it can be very, very funny to read sometimes. i dont think anyone is using physiological methods here. psychological maybe...

Muss wrote: right, it says 1600 members. not 1600 people. what are you arguing anyway? i forgot. Humm... that more people who are still actively posting in the forum want the smack forum back in some form. I can't speak for those who start different aliases, I've kept the same one since this forum began in 2001. But I do know that I left for a number of years and any votes that took place during that time didn't have my input. And it really does not matter how many registered members, real people or alias accounts we have. Is Helix suggesting that we poll unactive members? They probably don't know that smack has been closed in the first place, or could care less. Smack as Opt-In rather than Opt-Out sounds like the best solution. That would satisfy Archy's concerns that Smack is chasing people away. And you all know I could debate that issue As for the ages of the people still posting here... don't matter, we are still playing a text based bbs game, and our "inner children" are all alive and well! Some are starting to have tantrums because we don't have a place to express our childish behavior, wit and humor.

People who don't care one way or the other just ignore it. It is possible that the more telling point is that only one person who didn't want smack felt strongly enough to actually vote.

I didn't know that any vote here in the past had to have a minimum number of voters.

 Re: Threads being locked
What do you know... Another thread locked by Thrawn.
Locking them is fine if inappropriate but the information posted in the thread Server Going Down for Maintenance was informative and justified. Not every Darn thing is smack. My god
