Not sure if the max commands set to 255 is the problem here..

But.. ping is great and lag is non-existent with no one moving.

As soon as a couple people fire up a couple scripts... Lag goes through the roof and ping shoots up 150 points.

The server is unplayable (in my opinion) like this.

Any other reason why this would be happening?

Ive tired to PM sysop here and I also sent an email to see if he would lower max commands to see if this would help... but no reply yet.

I could be wrong, but I think I used to keep my max commands at like 30 or 35

255 is a bit high. 20 or 30 is a good range.

Ive tried emails and PM's on this site to the sysop of y-city.
Destro, I believe, is his name... but I'm not sure.

No response.

Does anyone know how to contact him?

Just trying to help his server out.

Well.. I guess Max Commands=0 would be unlimited??

In that case.. slightly worse than Max Commands=255 ;)

Some commands, like xport, have no pacing.

On the other hand some of those commands, like
xport, are also very CPU intensive.

So if you have people doing a lot of xporting, like
with worldSST, a high CPC or unlimited CPC will
cause the system use a lot of CPU.

In the beta, both of these problems were solved.
A small pacing was added and the xport isn't as
CPU intensive. But until all of that is worked out,
you need a way of pacing xport (and a few other
commands).

A reasonable CPC is a good way to do this. While
setting the CPC to something small like 5 or lower
will have an unreasonable impact on macros in
the game, somewhere between 20 and 30 CPC,
and you're good.
