Usually all beefing the alien planets up, and now setting IGs, does for a solo player is make the planets where they really aren't that valuable in some edits. If quick build planets are in the edit then the resources required aren't worth the cap. Generally just easier to try and kill everyone ship-to-ship. Wasting resources along with taking a couple of pods for an L5/L6 planet in some games is a nice way to lose. While a solo caps a planet, the other players (solo or corps) are building resources and can basically then just walk in.

If it is a "cap the alien homeworld" game then it will be of some value.

Yeah, that's why we have to keep our eyes open for most anything while in this stage of the beta. JP is doing a lot of work on the pacing right now that gives us time to look over all aspects to see if there's anything else now that needs tweaked.
