MCIC calculations are kindof complex. They're not quite linear. At
100% production, it's relatively easy to do. Just adjust the initial
offer for experience and away you go. But at less than 100% prod,
you need a multiplier that actually changes a little. I suspect that
multiplier is logarithmic, or at least geometric on %'s less than 20.

You can fix most of this by simply not reporting MCIC when % gets
too low, tho.

After ptrading all the ports show up as +20.
The easiest fix is to update only if HIGHER in value (in the positive number sense ignore the "-")

Right, because once the port is traded down it's % is so low
it messes with any future calculations. Several ways to fix
that.

Several ways that I'm sure Stein is already working on.

I just wish the "flooding" problem and the main screen freezing would be fixed. Never had it in 1.8.3 or prior, but can't use 1.8.3 on 30k games. At least on my system the program is useless if there are fighter hits or just displaying message from alien hits.

Possible Glitch. I'm playing in a game with 5k sectors. After I log into the game swath will freeze up crash then twx goes right after it. I don't have any other problems with any of the other games I play with.

Agreed on the "flooding" thing. I'm having this on twgs beta 30ks as well as twgs 1.03 20ks.

With flooding I assume you mean high text speed issues. If so, it is handled much better in 1.9.6. Also, historic fighter hits are not displayed in the TW console. Let me know if there is any other type of flooding left.

Yes, it sounds like keeping the best MCIC value and ignore low port percentages could resolve the current issues.

What I am seeing is...I run a script, say a colo script. While colo is running, SWATH Visual Map updates on the fly. Good stuff I expect that when I'm coloing. The Trader Info on the left side go crazy. Okay again I expect that. However, the main SWATH window seems to hiccup. I mean to say it seems to be behind the Visual Map and Trader Info as far as updating. Before the main window would update along with VP and TI. I read the above posts and am trying to understand the advantage of this new "scrolling" feature but I'm still unclear what it is doing better then 1.9.5 or earlier versions.

Not trying to be a douche. Just being the noob I am.

Fighter hits come in when someone is gridding - the main screen freezes - the comm window's "TW Console" is still rolling with messages from the hits. I cannot do anything as long as someone is gridding with any speed. I get a blue background under the text as it comes in the "TW Console" for each hit - irritating on that part. 1.8.3 did not have this issue.

XP Pro SP3 Build 2600. The blue background is only under the incoming text [edit] of the TW Console in the Comm Window [/edit].

I use XP home service pack 3 on this puter and the background is Black.

Have no idea why the difference. Just putting info out there for Stein.

You cant fire off scripts while the grid is being hit hard? Is that the issue? or is it just a color thing?

If someone is hitting at normal gridding in an unlim, the problem is that the main screen freezes - acts like the cpu is maxed. The color thing I just noticed in 1.9.5 and 1.9.6 - but I was using 1.8.3 up until now. If I close the comm window, the problem doesn't seem to be as bad.

Hmmmm.......I would not think that was enough scroll to trigger the screen update routine.

But he was talking about adding a slide bar adjustment to that or something.
