Who can answer SWATH questions um k?
I am starting a new thread to try to get some replies.
IF YOU USE SWATH can someone fill me in on the following [and yes i know i don't need it to play]:
1) When did the server go down? Has anyone talked to stein or mcahan? 2) Is there a work around? I can't verify my reg info because the authentication servers are down.
I guess that is really it. Someone must have an answer. I await! ;b

Let me add that you are correct...
I checked "http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/"
And it says it is up.
Any suggestions. I haven't used this computer for anything swath so there is no reason my internet should be blocking the site.
Open to suggestions.

If you have Swath 1.9.5 installed , the authentication server has now been slit in 2 places .. one is US based and the other in Swedish based so the chances of not getting authorization has been cut down considerably. I leave my Swaths connected for weeks , so I don't test authorizations as often as others. But as SG said , check your router or firewall settings. you may have inadvertently closed them off. Good luck and hope to see ya out there in a universe near me

Good luck and hope to see ya out there in a universe near me Alright so bear with me here vid. I have DSL through windstream. I have three computers and the one I am using right now I have never used to access swath.net or even tried to until last week. I have never configured a network before so its probably all messed up. That said each computer has zone alarm on it seperately and the modem/router has its own firewall. The "modem" which actually acts a router too [it has 4 inputs for ethernet lines and i'm using hard lines because the idiots at tech support could never resolve my wireless issues a year ago]. So I have 3 computers, hardwired into the 2wire [brand] modem which i guess is also acting like a router. None of the computers can access http://www.swath.net and so far [I've had this dsl over a year] that is the only site I have ever seen not work. Suggestions? I am going to try to get icq setup so we can chat on there. look forward to chatting with you vid. -LT EDIT: quickest call to a technical support team ever got system password already.

Re: Who can answer SWATH questions um k?
Hey LT, My guess is that it's a DNS problem. My suggestion is that you try statically setting your DNS settings (on your PC) to OpenDNS. Set the primary to 208.67.222.222, and the secondary to 208.67.220.220. You can use a statically set DNS even with a dynamic IP address. And those server settings will generally improve the loading speed of web pages, so it is a win-win. And they'll help block some fishing attempts and infected pages too. I hate to sound like a sales pitch... but it's free and it works great, whereas most ISPs' DNS servers are just meh. While I'm on the DNS kick, you can block your kids from hitting the porn sites by configuring the DHCP server in your router to give out 208.67.222.123 & 208.67.220.123 on the LAN. Here is the linky if you are interested: http://www.opendns.com/familyshield/Good luck, +EP+
