Unread post Citadel Upgrades
While I play many aspects of Tradewars (hunting, cashing, colonizing, etc), my specialty is colonizing and making sure citadels are on schedule for the next upgrade.

That's easy to do if I only have a few planets to look after. But if I have a long TL list, then that can take time to check each planet to make sure each citadel is on the way to the next upgrade. It does not help that the TL only shows the sector number that the planet is in, not the planet number.

I used to have to take notes and write down each planet and the sector it's in and whats' the date for the next upgrade, but sometimes planets do get moved around and such. And this old school record keeping can be time consuming.

And I have missed a planet or two when checking and as a result, the upgrade would not get started until I got to it.

So is there a script that will check on the planets for me and tell me if any needs to be upgraded or at least grab the TL info and reorganize it by sector number and export to an excel file?

Thanks in advance :)

I don't know of a public script that will do it, but it doesn't sound like a very tough script to make. I think J.P. was talking about adding a few new information features to the TL screen that may help when he's done. I'm not sure he's made it that far or not tho.

If you use Swath you can see which planets have citadels that need upgrading by using the View - Planet List menu option. Citadels that are currently upgrading are displayed with a + after the citadel level. Anything below level 6 without a + needs an upgrade.

That....I didn't know. And I do have SWATH. That's all I need, Scrat and thanks :) It's a waste of time for me to have to visit each planet to see if it needs an upgrade. Thanks much.

You'll have to visit each planet so SWATH can keep track of it, Helix. Because I use Zoc/TWX more, my SWATH file is not always up to date.

Timber, check out the beta. The planet lists now are listed first by sector, next by planet number and display both in corp and personal planet lists.

Personally, I keep track of the cit upgrades in my Outlook calendar, but was thinking of keeping notes in Google Calendar and everyone in corp can have access to see and update.

If you are not playing on the beta, you can find the script that does this same display in this part of the forum. The script was what caused the above request to be made for the new TWGS version. It does not maintain the days to next cit progresssion. I don't remember what named the script, but my alias will be the poster and it will be within the last 6 months or so.

[Edit]http://www.classictw.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=25339[/Edit] Again just a different type of display. Not wht you are looking for in regard to cit tracking.

Prom, the only thing I need to track are planet numbers and sector numbers at this point. Late in the game planets get moved around for whatever reason and many planets are named the same. So it makes for a confusing TL list.

I just have to do a better job of keeping track of the planets, that's all.
