At the computer prompt, send the following string: ÈÉÊËÌÍ

- Some people might be surprised :)

Its the original way to invoke CIM, and still does for me. Might be your browser not copying the string? or your terminal program? I use Opera and Telix. The string is <alt> 200 through <alt> 205 using the numberpad. Before TWGS it was the only way to get CIM, although it might have been accessible from helpers, never used any so dunno.

LS, what is a map checker? By CIM updater, you mean it begins by pulling a Warp Report? By Relog logic, you mean it can pick up where it leaves off?

Map Checker - scans dbase for sectors with zero warps (in or out). Can be run as a menu option. Additionally. What I try to do in my ZTM script is keep track of sectors calculated for every Pass. For example; at the end of Pass 3 (searching for Sectors that have 2-Warps and checkign for a 3rd Warp), I go back and recheck any new 2-way sectors that may have popped up as a result of the first run through of Pass-3 and check those for a 3rd Warp.

CIM Updater, you got it.. start by optionally updating CIM

Relog Logic, Script detects being Disco'd and then Relogged (by a another script --Bot, etc.), or optionally Performs the relog.

From twassist (early 90's) doc file, might help:-

"Entering CIM:

CIM is a computer mode in TW2002. It allows you to interrogate the
computer for information about sector warps and port information of
your known universe. To enter CIM you need to go to the computer
command prompt in the game and enter ASCII characters 200 thru 205.
To enter one of these characters hold down the ALT key, type the number
of the character (e.g. 200) using the keys on the number pad (not the
upper row!), and then release the ALT key. To enter CIM you would do:

ALT down, num pad 200, ALT up
ALT down, num pad 201, ALT up
ALT down, num pad 202, ALT up
ALT down, num pad 203, ALT up
ALT down, num pad 204, ALT up
ALT down, num pad 205, ALT up

Some communications programs, particularly Windows versions, use the
ALT key (e.g. to activate menus) or do not allow the transmission of
high ASCII characters. I don't know ways to get around the limitations
of every program. One possibility is to use a DOS editor to create a
text file containing these characters and do an ASCII upload of this
file. If you need help you need to find someone who is knowledgeable
about your communications program."

EDIT:

I tried ÈÉÊËÌÍ from dos telnet, wouldnt paste. Then made a text file in notepad, alt-200 thru alt-205, it came out as ╚╔╩╦╠═
That pastes in dos, and gets cim from computer prompt. I guess a dos prompt aint what it used to be. ÈÉÊËÌÍ still works in telix.
I remember making ÈÉÊËÌÍ from the dos edit command (copy con blah.txt) years ago, probably 96/97, but tried it today and get ╚╔╩╦╠═ courtesy of microsludge :)

Any update on this routine? I'm really looking forward to both the routine as well as a new ZTM.

I'm willing to implement datamining aspects, if there is a compelling reason to do so within the ZTM itself. Can you guys give me a datamining wish-list? What features, beyond speed and accuracy, would you like to see in a ZTM?

A graphic map! :)

That's got to be the one thing that I miss most that I used with TwHelper, was the ZTM and maps. Yours looks very helpful and although I'll probably have a learning curve to understand how to use it and read it, I do have one serious question.

Can you share CIM files between corpies? I remember we used to merge CIM files and that was very helpful.

Yes. Export warp spec, send it, import warp spec.

TWASSIST has a good graphic map, if the game is 5K or less. KOKUA works with any size, but it is not as clear. Both are free.

Could you build a bubble finder into the script? I'm not happy with the bubble finders that are out there, or at least the one's that I can get my hands on.

I don't have any plans for a map with the ZTM, though I've tossed around the idea for a stand-alone map in the past. Regarding the ZTM though, Sing and I did some testing and found it missed a lot of warps when Gold bubbles were present. It's likely that I'll have to implement a bubble routine, then do further testing on those bubble sectors to improve the ZTM accuracy. I kinda always planned that, just not for the initial release. I may go ahead and release what I've got, as it still works well when Gold bubbles aren't present, and add the bubble search later.

I wrote a revolutionary bubble search about 2 years ago. I say revolutionary, as it's from an idea I had and tried to implement for several years before I had any success. I've been writing bubble searches successfully since I learned to script, back in 2003, but they were always a brute force approach, and took a long time. I suspected that it could be done in a single BFS pass, and used to refer to this quest as my Unified Theory, or some such. Anyway, I had a breakthrough about a year and a half ago, and Rev and I confirmed that it is possible. It runs in a couple seconds, versus a brute force approach which would likely take over an hour for a 20k. I haven't touched it in a while, but I'll probably have to dig it up for this ZTM. When I do, I'll make a stand-alone version as well.

Sorry, I know I must sound like a noob. Gold bubbles? Are you talking about massive bbls that say if you knew the door could control a huge quadrant of sectors?

Gold bubbles are usually 100 sectors in size or greater...
