The upcoming release will use an old-looking Win 3.1 style dialog when used on Vista and Win7, but XP will use the normal dialogs.

I'm one or two more fixes away from an update, which I hope to knock out this week.

What difference would that make? It's a small popup window.

there is a big difference on my computer.

mostly being that I cant resize the window. when I have files all over the place and am not sure exactly where they are.. it makes them difficult to find... especially when the whole script name wont fit in the window.

its not something to make me quit using
and
im not complaining.

just wondered if it was a quick fix or something we were stuck with if we wanted to use Win 7.

as even Elder said... its a nastier looking window.

Yes, I've noticed the socket error a few times.

Those happen to me when the server is not accepting connections, whats annoying is a dialog box pops up with the message every 3 seconds as you try to reconnect and can't. They march across the screen.... lol

Yeh, there's been a few. There was a release not long back that has an
alternative menu for win7 users that was stable.

I believe you will find out that you have the same problem with Vista.

MS decided to break TWX/Delphi apps when they changed something in the new
version of controls that shipped with Vista. Tracking down this error is a little beyond my skills with
the tools I have. We have narrowed it down to the changes MS made but other than that there is
no easy fix.

Any difference from Xide's version? I have it on my machine..but it was the version that wasn't free...it's old, I know.

Does it work for Windows XP?

Timberwolf... yes there is a LOT of differences from your version.... these are just a few that come off the top of my head w/o looking
SectorParams set/get individual variables indexed by sectors
ReadToArray faster Read routine... Old Read opened and closed file repeatedly.
Rylos and AlphaCentauri system constants
GetNearestWarps Eliminates the need for breadth-first search routines

SetAvoids/ClearAvoids allows one to void a specific sector in the TWX Database independent of TWGS voids.

I highly suggest you get the last "stable" version I believe it is 2.04 as the 2.05 version is being worked on and has some issues.

Yes 2.04 will work on XP
2.04 will also work on Vista/Win 7 if you do NOT open a dialog box... such as TWX Script and/or TWX Export/Import

Where can I find this version? I I take it the scripts used with still use the *.ts and *.cts suffixes.

It's been a long time since i've used TWX and have written a few scripts myself.
