 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
Cool, Here goes nothing. I will try it on my next game Helix Edit: delete the old twxproxy.dat file. and at above 3 megs the exe seems overly large. (but what do I know lol)

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
hmm.
First I just copied over the Exe file. Loaded it up.. worked ok. Tried to load MomBot ---- Unknown script run-time error '__MOM_BOT3_1032.TS': , line 6140 ---
loaded another script, worked ok.
deleted the .dat file and added another game.
now Zoc seems like it cant find twx proxy .. no matter which port I use.
Never game it time to sit around to after loading (the first time) to see if I got the normal crash

What OS you using, for whatever reason the new version prompted windows firewall to block all connects associated with the new copy. I went in and made an exception and it works fine now.

I dont use Windows Firewall.
and it worked until I deleted the data file\
I'll look at my firewall though

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
I think I can solve Legion's problem fairly easily.
I gave Space Ghost a newly compiled version and he had a problem with it.
I tried it on my machine and lo and behold I was having a problem also.
Seems that the Port is not being set correctly the first time you run TWXProxy.
I had to quit TWXProxy and restart in order to get the right port saved.
I am not sure why it is like this I'm busy with some other projects so might be a few days before I get back in the groove.
Thanks for all who are trying my version I will try and work on a few suggestions that I have received.
It was suggested that my rebang button delete the MomBot's cfg or data file.
I have given it some thought... Yes it would be nice to do that but will we have to do that to all scripting files that are saved? There is no iron-clad rule to look up game specific files.... is it $GAMENAME.something or $MOM_BOT_GAMENAME.something or ck_$GAMENAME.something;
My original intent of the game rebang button I coded was that I was lazy and my memory is fading that I kept forgetting the URL of the game I just deleted when it rebanged, I just wanted a clean DataBase didn't really care about the cfg/data files.

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
same here.. ran mombot once = same Application error
restarted and ran massupgrade .. few mins later = same Application error.
it only errors out , as usual, when I used the twx icon to load a script.
I can use mombots < to load and its fine. (if mombot is "Auto" loaded when twx starts)
I can also use $ss to load a script and it works fine.
Still.. loading using twx icon gives application error.
but.. I can import/export data etc using twx icon and its fine.
Just loading the script.. bang.

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
Hey, test out other file dialogs. Go to import a CIM, does that have the same effect?
Also, instead of loading the script, cancel and wait. Does it still crash?

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
This is my error: All I did was start TWX.exe, load mombot from TWX, press z and walk away...didn't do anything else.

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
Using a twxproxy.dat from the previous twxproxy.exe threw an exception, deleted the twxproxy.dat file and restarted twxproxy.exe, set it up. Could not connect from SWATH on the port I set in TWXProxy until I shut TWXProxy down and restarted it.
Loaded up mombot, playing in an unlim sub zero continuously since yesterday with no problems on Windows XP 32bit. (WSST, MERCH, FARM, UGRID, BUY.... you get the idea)

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
I'm pretty sure it's the TOpenDialog, which means any time you open a file select dialog (which is usually done via the task bar) you'll end up with this problem. It doesn't matter whether you actually open a script or hit cancel, any time you open up a dialog box you'll have this problem (there are other dialogs to open, try importing a CIM and hitting cancel).
This bug does not effect windows XP or Vista. It is a windows 7 only bug. 32 bit and 64 bit.
I suspect the most logical solution is to use an alternate control.

 Re: TWXProxy Development Discussion
Everything runs fine for me in XP etc...
Only -- WIN 7 -- 32&64 are giving the Application error when using the Twx icon. Maniacs version and regular version... including Elders new version.
