Eastern. The game will start 8pm Eastern on 10/31/09..As I am posting this i am checking the Practice Game and it appears to be set to Eastern time zone as well.

I just became aware that Daylight Savings time ends Nov 1 at 0200 time gets set back to 0100 how do we make sure we don't have a Double Exturn as people have experienced in the past???

everytime i have been in a game during DST some wacky stuff happens, planets max out, etc. i recall someone figured out how to avoid that, sing im guessing?

Having the time change far enough after extern is just 1 of the problems. I recommend shutting off automatic time changes on the server so that doesn't happen until you're at keys to fix problems. The change to DST isn't that bad, since you just gain an extra hour and a few extra turns. The change from DST can be a disaster.

The real problem is when the clock jumps back and hour, the timestamps on everything are suddenly off. By going back an hour all of the planets will lose an hour, players that log off might not be able to log back in for an hour, etc. If it was me, I'd disable the time change and then schedule a time that day to take the server down. Take it down, change the time and then see if ppl can log back in. At least then it effects everyone equally.

Why don't you just do the time change before the game starts then turn off the automatic time changes on the server.

That's what I've done, set the server time off of daylight savings, and set the game to start at 7PM, which is actually 8 EDT.

To be clear, the server is no longer on daylight savings, and so extern tonight will run at 1 AM EDT, and at midnight EST after tonight.

Team Wizard of OZ now lives in Fed Space with no chance of leaving. Even with those ruby slippers it just takes them to dock This game is done. Good game guys and SG thanks for the unique edit man it was fun.

hate to be the bearer of bad news....but our grid aint done and we are quit yet either..i admit it isnt pretty but we are still hanging in with our itsy bitsy grid....its been a fun game so far......

we have 100% of the grid, only open sectors are 1-10 and dock. every sector out of fed and 2 hops from there now has navhaz mines and limps both msL are blocked and every msl sector has a becon in it.
