Most cycle riders have seen this video, but for those who have not... Yeah, it is on the country music side of which I am not a fan, but this one pretty much says it like it is. BTW, $30k + 3000 miles does not make you a rider... Some so-called riders shelter their "garage queens" at the first onset of cool weather or when a rain cloud appears...

Well, I can't afford the 30k bike and I do like country music.

So I guess I'll have to stick to my 4 wheel drive GMC pickup with the 4 wheeler in the back.

BTW, it's a lot of fun riding my 4 wheeler in the rain. The more mud the better.

I ride but I am not a fan of Rain or Cold, I will not stay home because of it but it is safer on dry pavement. Plus I am getting old I like it above 50 if I am going riding.

I understand on that - esp the old part since AARP came calling a long time ago. Dry pavement is nice to have when idiots stop at green lights, and then decide they really want to turn right from the middle lane into the right-turn lane you are riding in. High intensity headlights at night, and the lady still spaced out and came into my lane, and stopped again while still on a green light. I was maybe 50-75 feet away. Glad the Connie has very good brakes, and I am not a trusting rider. My front wheel did catch air as I passed her after we made our right turn.

Hey Prom...I liked the video and was wondering if you have ever looked at the top of the line Polaris Victory motorcycles? I've been drooling everytime I walk past a San Francisco top motorcycle shop and stop to look at the one the owner of the shop has as his personal scoot...can even pop your iPod into a slot for the stereo music for open road! Interesting company making them as they started making 1st snowmobiles back in the 60's in a small town with about 1500 to 2000 people in north MN.... as they grew they starting farming out parts of the manufacturing to to other small towns in the area and then assembling the parts in Thief River Falls. They later branched into producing the Arctic Cat line of cold weather vehicles and also water scooters. I am totally impressed by their American made motorcycles! Harley and Indian (if they are still around) would be my other choices for American products. Going foreign BMW would prob be my first choice.

The Victory is an interesting looking bike that most people either love or hate w/o much middle ground. I think mechanically it is a very good bike. The Indian, I don't know much about, but a used bike shop here has a couple for sale. I am not a cruiser/heavy touring rider so my interests are in sport touring, Kawasaki Concours and Yamaha FJR1300. The BMW bikes are sweet, but out of my price range for a bike.

The pure sport bikes would be the Suzuki GSXR1000 and some of the other liter class bikes - the Hayabusa just seems too bulky, but I've never ridden one.

If I were to go with a Harley, it would have to be the V-Rod. That is a good looking bike that I could probably enjoy.

If money, storage space, and the wife were no objects (esp the wife), I would prefer prob 4 bikes.
--- GSXR1000 for around town and just winding out on the roads.
--- The Connie (Concours) for mid-range touring of around 500-600 miles.
--- Honda Gold Wing for long-range touring.
--- Big Dog Wolf 2009 Model (made here in Kansas) just becuz.....
