In regard to your question about having a DE in a bubble and another corp blocking the gate to the bubble. I would waste their blockade since their planet/base is not in a DE and they do not have control of the bubble (neither do you). Putting planets in a gate is still open space since there are sectors behind it. The only sectors not in "open space" are DE sectors.

Each Op will handle/see it differently so asking like you did is probably the safest best.

Thats what I thought too. It seemed a valid strategy. Sage never answered so its a moot point. I was trying to control the bubbles with min. effort. Blocking the gates unless you have the resources to stay there just creates bad feelings. When my arguements fell on deaf ears, I tried to sell them the sector for 100mill :) I could have forced the issue by letting them kill me but it was too close to extern.

I got there first is Sages main rule of thumb but sunday night he was no where to be found. There is always the next bang.

You never got an answer because I never received the question. In UTW truce games, once a player posts a "Home Sector, Keep Out" beacon in the front sector of their bubble, along with a few planets and figs as well as mines, the bubble under truce rules is officially theirs and may not be taken by another player.

If at that time, another player is blockading the entrance to your bubble, that would be illegal and a truce violation on their part since players may only put a single fig in open space during truce periods, the only exception to the 1 fig rule is when fortifying a home sector entrance or the interior sectors of your bubble, which have no fig limits.

hmmmmm

I do not believe that the answer given 100% relates to the question asked.
I could be wrong though.

Another words. Building a door only is legal when you have then entire bubble/dead end figged and under control. A gate to a bubble is NOT a door unless you have the entire bubble figged.

If we all go by what sage has just said.. (-I think-) then I could get in game... do a quick ztm... and go put a planet + a beacon + a few figs and the entrance to each bubble and have all the bubbles completely locked up.

LoL. funny.

You should have to be able to defend your bubble.
This does not mean that someone can come pound on your cannons during truce trying to take over the bubble.
But.. if I am cashing along and can just run over/through the weak door you are trying to guard a bubble with... then it shouldn't be your bubble.

Also.. if I have figs inside the bubble.
I may Twarp there at some point and create my base in a small DE within the bubble that is "supposedly" already taken.
then what? Am I supposed to know that this bubble was already taken? Obviously I was there first or I wouldn't have figs inside the bubble (of course it (it = the large bubble) truly shouldn't mine cause I didn't defend. BUT.. the little DE inside the bubble should be mine. Cause I made planets there and claimed a DE as my base.

What if
What if
What if

What if I made the planets first in a small DE.
Some other guy starts 2 days late and find this large bubble entrance and claims it (with a beacon and few figs (per sage))
Does this mean that I have to leave the bubble even though all my planets have been there for 2 days?? Just cause he got the entrance?

Simple solution.
If you want a large bubble..
- block it off
- grid it out
- have enough resource to keep other from running through your door.

If ya cant accomplish that, then dont try to take the bubble.

Anything else you are going to have More problems than the original solution of a beacon and a few figs in a door only.

The only flaw I see in that logic, Legion is that your small or fairly small DE within the larger bubble would then be totally surrounded by planets and figs unless that DE just happens to have a 1 way out. That wouldn't show if the bubble owner just checked for security from the outside and not both ways. Otherwise you'd be trapped with no way out unless you were blue and hit fed space to get to the main. If you were red, forget it.
