I found a freeware voice recognition program call PiLfluS and started playing around with it. After downloading, installing, and training MicroSoft's voice recognition engine, I was able to set up a command list for Tradewars in PiLfluS.
It was pretty cool to be able to say commands and move around the universe. It has the ability to send single key presses or macros and you can even send control and alt key combinations with it. As is I'm not sure how practical it is since I can generally type faster than it responds (at least for the simple commands), but it could probably be interfaced with custom scripts to come up with some interesting applications.
Was wondering if anyone else has played around with voice recognition for game control?
The home page for the application seems to be down and I don't remember where I downloaded it, but I'll see if I can find a download link if anyone is interested.
