 RP Friday Night Games

Hello,
I'm moving really slow today as I've got Pneumonia but I'm trying to figure out what games need banged for tonight and will repost here when I figure out what games. I've had a request for Game C, and I'm adding Spaceballs so that's what I know for now.
Stay tuned for further updates... I just wanted to give a heads up.
Whatever games are banged will open for play at 7pm EST tonight.

Whew, poor advertising, so prolly not gonna be a great turnout, but I got everything done with an hour to spare. Games are set to open at 7pm EST

I tried to use Vids scripts to set up the aliens and planets, but had trouble, so I'll work on that for next bang, but just used my macros to set them up as I have in the past.

Games will be:

C: StarWars (Vader)

D: Tradewars Bootcamp (Noob Game)

G: Stamina (Toadville edit by Pestilance)

H: RevStock (Rev)

Aliens are over active.
If you have any decent amount of grid you get an alien message literally every 2 seconds.
and not just 1 hit.. a group of 3 or 4 at a time.

Im surprised the number of alien hits doesn't clog up the mail file.
In 2 minutes I received 122 new messages, all from aliens.

Also.. again.. The alien planets are Way too easy to take.
Within first 3 hours of game all 5 alien homeworlds were taken by 1 person playing alone.

Logs indicate that the trader only have to land twice for 4 out of 5 planets to capture.


Of course this is only my opinion. If this is how its supposed to be, then, so be it.
But its terrible getting close to 100,000 figs hit messages a day and playing alone having all 5 aliens homeworlds within 3 hours.

I'll look into this. Thanks for the input. I can beef up the planets more, but then I run into trouble of making them to difficult. Hard to find a ballance everyone is happy with. But will take your words under advisment and find out what we can do about it.
Next week I hope to use a script Vid made to set up the planets rather than my macro. We'll see how that works and what the settings it comes up with will be.

Both Games C and F seem to be over so I'm going to rebang them today and open the games at 7pm EST tonight.
Game C: Fed is surrounded and players can't enter game so I'm assuming it's over.
Game F: We read the comments above.
Vid sent me an updated script to try, so I'll do just that to set up the alien planets. We'll see how it works, and feel free to post your comments here.

I disagree. Stiff competition will make the game last more than an hour. Truces just make lazy players in my book.

I was able to get Vids script to work this time. So aliens are set differently than I normally do. Vid and myself would both like input on these settings.

IMHO forget the truce.
Keep at it. Learn from your mistakes. It doesn't matter if you mess up and get #SD# in a few hours.
Hopefully get it banged again asap and get back in there.
You will learn loads in the long run.
Makes it better if your opponant is experienced enough to give you some pointers/feedback after the game.

Yeah, the alien planet thing is a toughie. I played one version of KISS that had too tough of planets and they were uninvadable (early) unless you had a full corp. That is one of my favorite edits, but I do need to tweak it a little.

Depends on your style of play. I prefer ship-to-ship and killing as quickly as possible - a quick game, but that is not what others may prefer. I prefer games where you live or die based on what you do, and not what the sysOp does to protect players. I've heard the "enjoy playing alone" remark so many times it is laughable because someone ended up in a pod when they were colonizing or just hitting figs. I don't have time for truce/grid war type games, and I don't see mothing bases or grid wars as anything but boring.

Playing as a solo you really can't let a corp get going, and if you think the solo that came in and went blue will remain solo, you could be setting yourself up to be fighting a corp of 3-4 fairly quick. I've seen a lot of players call in corpies when they realize they are getting their butt's kicked 1-v-1, and I have absolutely no respect at all for those players - esp when the game has been going for a few days.
