 Re: Thank You
maybe it can get some players now.
we get Quaser hank him and we will have the whole 'friends' gang here.
add in Helix and another random and we have the whole player database.
what TW needs is a consolidation of all servers to 1 major sever ran by a few sysops. we would get more than 1 corp per game then. heh

I even talked to JP about it, but didn't get an answer. I suggested a central EIS server that has 6 or 7 gameops controling a few games each, and have each gameop fork out a little cash for a good server and maybe a T1 connection. You split the cost by 7 and have J.P. add in what cash he can, and it should be enough to provide a really fast server with a lot of competition.

 Re: Thank You
Keep waiting Muss, we have nothing to prove, nothing to gain, nothing to lose, we are just people who play the GAME (Oh yes Muss it's just a game) for the shear fun and enjoyment of the game, not for recognition and accolades (that an a $1.50 might buy you a cup of coffee) within a venue of make believe that you seem to crave. I venture to say that we are able to achieve that in REAL life in our personal and business lifes. So as the CEO of IC I tell you that we do not and will not play in a Death Match. Have a nice day, bang..... bang.....

 Re: Thank You
your boy Jim agreed. so bring your cup of coffee and let get it on! about time you guys played in a game with more people than the 3 on your corp btw.. this is make believe. the game is not real life. I have plenty to do in real life.. that why I dont have time for 5 games at at time against myself like your corp does. now.. quit taking up bandwidth doing nothing

 Re: Thank You
The problem with you logic there Legion, is that Helix has NEVER beat us in a game that went to truce end.... and he only beat us once (thats 1 time) when i goofed up and violated truce by dropping 3 figs with my gridder before truce was up, so our team got booted....lol

You split the cost by 7 and have J.P. add in what cash he can, and it should be enough to provide a really fast server with a lot of competition. I'm not in favor of ONE server, just because I know from experience that putting all your eggs in 1 basket is never a good idea. Something happens with that server, and suddenly everyone is screwed. But, the idea of consolidating TW onto 2, 3, maybe 4 servers is a great idea. Of course, this would require the consent of a lot of people, and even just a few hold outs would probably dilute the base too much (unless "non-official/approved" servers were banned from advertising games?). Ideally, the servers should be geographically dispersed, so that players from 1 region dont have a huge advantage over players from another. Each server should run between 2-5 games MAXIMUM. So that at any given time, there is, at most, 20 different tradewars games going on (instead of now, where by my estimate, and I'm sure I'm missing some servers, there are over 65). Around 20 games will allow for plenty of diversity. We can have 1 "new player" game where all new or returning players get a chance to play and just learn about the game, 2-3 long-term "building" style games, 2-3 "truce" games, and the rest should be non-truce, fast paced war games that rebang on a more frequent time schedule. Of these various style games, some should be unlimited turn, some should be low (under 2k turns), and maybe 1 should be in the 5k to 10k turn range. That setup gives the opportunity to run a variety of edits, variety of different styles, and a "something for everyone" type of approach, while consolidating the player base and turning these limited games into much more active environments, instead of the typical games that have between 3-6 players in them.
