hmm must have wrong server addy? still not getting through..

will try to deal with the delays tonight, as I'm that bored and laketravisbum is having kittens..

Two of the games had the steal delay turned on which I have now turned off.

For some unknown reason 2 players have been unable to connect since yesterday morning. Yet others are able to connect fine without any problems. I have checked and there are no IP's being blocked at all. At least one of the players unable to connect was connected prior to my taking the server down to rebang games yesterday morning. But after the rebang he could no longer connect.

Does anyone have a clue why this would happen and/or how to fix it? This sounds like a bug. Is there a file I can edit somewhere? So far I have not found one.

file : TWMAIL.DAT if over 1 meg , take server offline , and delete this file.
usual cause is aliens.

But that does not appear to be the issue. No twmail.dat files are even over 80k.
It does sound like this should be something that should be cleared more easily from the frontend though maybe in the future.

I see one of those that couldn't access yesterday now is able to do so. And we have no idea why. Maybe it is an ISP issue and not related to this gameserver at all.

Not being able to access individual games wouldn't be an ISP issue. More than likely it is a data file corruption issue. Maybe a bad TWA import. Try deleting the game folder, re import the game from a fresh .TWA file and rebang the game. Shouldn't be that hard to get a sub zero edit again.
If you let a corrupted game continue, it's going to overwork your cpu and possibly be costly in the end.

No, some players could not get connected at all, period.

Now a player that connected yesterday cannot connect to Game A today.
This is just peachy.

I'm taking the server offline, uninstalling twgs entirely and put it back up fresh, rebanging everything.

We will be back online in a few hours.

Up and rebanged.

I think I'm the other player you're still referring to. I can't connect with telnet or with TWX, or directly with SWATH. It's like the gameserver is actively refusing my connection.

You are using ns1.coffeymate.net port 2002 right?

It just may be coincidental, but I'm starting to see a pattern.
Traveler could connect yesterday morning, but not after the rebang just before noon - from noon to midnite he could not connect. He connected fine after midnite and again this morning. I rebanged the games and he connected just fine. But about noon when he came back he could no longer connect and finally gave up. ALthough he did say he connected 3 times logging on and off. After a short wait while we talked online, he tried again and after that could no longer connect.

I'm suspecting AT&T my service provider may be blocking access from certain IP ranges or providers from noon till midnite.

Those that are being blocked please send me your provider's name and the times you tried to access and were unable to do so. Then I have something to work with in sorting this out.

TWGS is NOT blocking any IP's. None at all.

I ran RiverCity on AT&T's DSL and never had an issue regarding times so I doubt it they are blocking anything. The AT&T service was a lot better for me than Cox Cable (still ticked about the $300 for hardware I spent after they told me my hardware was the problem - it wasn't - nuked Cox).

I'm also on AT&T, so I'm starting to suspect ISP issues as well.

No problems, have been in the game for prob 2 hours - sure hope it wasn't supposed to be a truce game.
