Telnet services disabled: Check
Firewalls Off: Check
Dyndns: Check
Ports Forwarded: Check
Ability to telnet to own server outside of localhost: Failed

Ok so one has to assume its the router itself, unless I'm missing something. Ive tried 23/512/2002. Firewalls on/Firewalls off. Port forwarding services are good and to the correct computer. Still no dice :< Worse part is when I first got my codes everything worked great only differance between then and now is I'm running XP pro.

If your feeling kind give it a shot, maybe I'm just to tired.

If XP is the only difference, I'd guess it's a software issue. Did you try running network setup wizard? XP also has to be set up to allow IP forwarding. The router and each pc on the network needs to understand how to relate to each other. You never said what type equipment you were using so it just depends on your set up.

Can you telnet to it from another computer from within the network? Seems that'd tell you whether it's the router or the install.

k, I am not a network person at all so setting up the TWGS I ran was a bit of luck. I am wondering why the firewalls are off and telnet services are disabled. Prob a crazy question. I believe I have XP's firewall on with TWGS as an exception - could be wrong and I have never disabled telnet services - at least not that I am aware of.

Telnet services run on port 23, so they'd cause a port conflict. He disabled the FW so that it shouldn't be a problem on any setting. I've noticed that some firewalls still try to stay active tho, so that might not work as expected.

One setting I've ran into troubles w/ is the "IP_Addr" setting in configure->Server. I found that anything other than "Auto" didn't work, and local checkbox should not be set. Also found that on my particular router I had to reboot the router after setting up port forwarding.

One thing I've been curious of is whether or not anyone is running TWGS as "realtime" and what effects it had. I've been curious as to what effects that'd have on the TWGS timing window and it's effects on gridding.

Setting the IP_Addr to "Auto" is what you want. No issues on my network, and I run 2 firewalls (not XP firewall) on my network here.

Running the TWGS on "realtime" on our system caused the system to lag, especially processing the requests and the number of users online. It also interfered with some of the OS processes needed to run on our system. After trying all the settings, we found from our experience that "normal" is a well-balanced setting, allowing descent processing for players and a bit of processing for us on our end.

Any help you guys can offer would be huge. I'm trying to bring it up to help a couple people with anti gridding techniques. How would network setup wizard help with the setup? I agree its more than likely software related but I just cant nail it. More than likely its a setting within XP. Before I was running XP home, now im running XP Professional (Required for most of my classes in college).

System Specs:
3.2 GHZ x2 AMD
160gig HD
Win XP Professional
Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router

Have you made sure that dyndns is actually forwarding to you? I know my router automatically updates my ip to dyndns whenever it changes. Again, I know nothing about networks and very little about the forwarding services.

Ive tried yes, however at some point between the forwarding service and this computer I'm running it off of there is a service preventing the connection. Banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out.

Code:
Open Port Results
An attempted connection to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:2002 timed out. This typically indicates that traffic to that port is being actively blocked by either a firewall or your ISP.

Code:
DNS Query Results
Response from 203.62.195.75:

Pretty lame eitherway :< , considering a firmware upgrade to the router previous to trying out another brand.

You did upgrade the router? If so, did you configure the router itself? If not, there should be documentatioin that came with the router concerning IP passthrough and detailed instructions on how to configure the passthrough. The network wizard will basically configure XP itself to understand what type of network you have and whether, you are using an administrator pc and several slave pc's, or if each pc can connect to the interenet individually, or if you are running a hub or a switch. If you are using an administrator pc, each slave pc will need to understand who's the boss and will need to be configured that way. If it's not the same software on each pc, there can be conficts. It will usually take a configuration cd or disk to tranfer the setup files to each one.

I appreciate your feedback BigD but your off base on that (needing to update network wizard and specify a home network I'm not running a ICS). No need, everything is controlled from the router in general unless its ICMP/LAN based. Eitherway I appreciate the feedback as I may have missed something. Yes I updated the firmware tonight, actually I'm running a completely different firmware now (DD-WRT: open source) and have made the needed corrections to get everything up and running. I'm questioning if it is indeed ISP based or not at this point. The router is not even showing a incoming connection to that port (Even when I dont use a dyndns redirect).

I'm not sure what else I havnt looked at, I shutdown all firewalls, tried 23/513/2002 even DMZ'd with my router just to try to get it up.

*Gah*

If you don't mind saying, who is your ISP? I have ran on Cox cable, and now AT&T DSL. I found Cox to be more restrictive.

I'm in the process of getting FIOS but currently I'm on charter. I would really like to get this up, for the eventual public server and to show some friends counters to certain types of gridding. Kills me I didn't have the issue till recently. (XP pro)

Well it's not even getting to the router, it has to be somewhere before that then. Could be the ISP firewall won't allow incoming connections. Not sure what type of modem you are using, but some ISP's supply modems that are also routers in itself. The Westell modem for one is a router and a modem. Maybe I'm way off base here also, but just throwing out ideas to you that might get lucky.
