I am in a Sub Zero edit where alien fig hits or powering up messages are not coming through. I've seen this before a long time ago, but don't know what causes it. I've logged out of the game and back in and no change. No other players in the game ( non-truce ) to check fed comm or SS with. If I remember right, the last time this happened, we did not have any comms.

Had that problem before and toggling various CN settings fixed it.

Toggled everything and still no luck. I toggled the settings, logged off, and repeated with no luck. I even tried turning SS messages all the way off and then back on. Hoping I can get in touch with the Op and see if a corrupted file might be causing it, but I somehow doubt that is the issue. No way to defend the game if I don't get messages - guess I could just lock it down.

Even though I checked messages at 01:13 game time and nothing showed, after doing a CN and then checking, I see messages clocked at 1:11 that did not show up earlier.

A team I was on a while back... Most of the team ended up this way over the course of a day. First a corpie, then another, then me. 2 others never had it happen, we did everything to try and fix it. I logged out, stayed off for a minute, logged back in and then checked my CN. It showed everything as fine too, but when I toggled everything from on to off back to on, everything started coming back in (altho correlation is not causality).

Never figured out what caused it, but I suspect the code that handles messages is worded like...



So if SilenceMessages gets corrupted somehow, and contains something that's neither On nor Off, the CN shows it one way while the game behaves as CN7=on. Somehow in the process of things something else happened to reset the variable, whether it was anything we did or not.
