 SWATH again!
Wasn't the last update supposed to stop this from happening?

 Re: SWATH again!
I just reinstalled everything on a bigger HDD. The server was up when I used the online reg tool. Thats what I get for not playing last night when I had a chance.
I paid for the dang helper, I should be able to use the thing.

Edit: Its back up now!

 Re: SWATH again!
Cerne, if you did not connect to the game after the re-installation no previous login was stored so that is probably why your offline mode failed.

Edit: Its back up now! I have to agree on paying for it and should be able to use it. My copy has a reg code in it, so phoning home should not be necessary - often wondered what information it is sending too. Funny thing is I don't remember, but it may be there, anything that told me that if it wasn't able to phone home that it would not work. Ah well, maybe someday we will have software developers that don't look at everyone as if they are trying to steal their product.

 Re: SWATH again!
Yea but I have seen several people asking if they know where to find Keycodes for it. So as with anything 1 or 2 people ruin it for the rest of us. You can request the offline code by sending in the finger print then if the server is offline it will always work just fine.

 Re: SWATH again!
Main problem I ran into was going out of state where I didn't have Internet access, but had some time after work to kill. After the 3rd or 4th day, I thought about writing some scripts. I had twgs on the laptop, swath and twx so I fired up the twgs (it didn't phone home) then went to the twx-swath combo --- crash, can't phone home, can't script and test. Ah, but then I saw the Zoc icon and all was good....... I don't use Zoc in games, but it is something I won't be without. I guess I could have used a telnet window to work with if I didn't have Zoc... that would have been fun.

 Re: SWATH again!
KevTerm is a great little utility to carry on laptop, Free and runs macros as well it is a little different since I think it is /r for enter instead of ^M. Either way I carry Zoc and Kevterm for such instances.

But, you just need to search on google for "SWATH 1.3.1 crack" and you would get my view Thanks to the authentication server solution it was easy to tackle this attack from the server side.

From a user's view, not being able to hit the authentication server ruins being able to use the software. A simple fix might be kicking the software into basically "eval" mode when it can't hit the server - eliminate the hot keys, built in scripts, maps, and thing of that nature. I would still like the stats on the left side available as I look at some of the activity to help judge what a script (TWX) is doing in regards to speed.

There are a lot of ways to get around software pirates besides requiring your paying customers to use an authentication server. That's the main reason I've never bought your software, because sooner or later, your paying customers are going to get it in the rear. You every think of an authentication server where the buyer could download a registered version that must be verified by password and where each download can be monitored? Then if too many downloads occur, THEN force them to authenticate the software.
