I realize auto log scripts are important to staying alive, but I have a player locking up nodes left and right on Silver Wings because he either has a piss poor log in script or he doesn't know how to use the one he has. It looks like mule(Marius) is using a bot that logs on multiple times. He uses up 10 or 12 nodes at once before he finally gets one, then it gets to the password prompt and evidently he doesn't have a password set right so it kicks him back to the main screen. If people are going to release these auto relog scripts they either need to put a delay betweeen attempts or include a lot of documentation showing the user how to use it. This is really a problem for servers in general, and if this continues, I will take Silver Wings offline. I can't have the cpu maxed because of locked nodes on a constant basis.

LOL. Actually I've seen that exact player do this once before on another server... think it was trahern's.

But I don't see this happen a lot w/ other players. Have you? His is probably something custom... and in that case, why not just temp ban him and see if that stops the script?

Sounds like that player needs to learn how to set it up... temp ban him and maybe they will contact you on icq about being banned atleast... :)

ok, I banned the IP, and that made it worse. Now instead of using up 10 nodes every time he gets an inactivity timeout, it locks them up constantly since he is trying to relog immediately. I up'd the inactivity timeout to 240 seconds and that helped, but over time it still locks up nodes. Each time a node locks up, it uses cpu and cause lag for the entire server. I've contacted him by ICQ and no response. I also set the server to single IP log in. That will suck that some players can't play multiple games, but at least he can't load up multiple nodes.

Ahh, well block him at the firewall or router level then. Should stop him from reaching the nodes.

I remember my first auto-login script that I wrote... I forgot to kill the script after launching a new login attempt. So the first time it would be fine with 1 login, the 2nd time I would have 2, then 4, then 8... maybe that is what is happening here?

His is a combination script conflict...
I can't remember how I disabled revs login to tell him how.
He's running Zoc/TWX
MOMbot is reconnecting...
Revs autologin is kicking in when it sees the Play Trade Wars
If he's afk, this creates some sort of conflict..
I'll look in my Zoc and Rev stuff, and see if I can remember how I disabled it.

and tell him.

I looked and still can't remember unless it was in the auto macros zoc has... Like the silent keepalive.
If it was in there I prolly just removed it.

This is another reason I dislike scripts that autologin as an added function - I think I can determine if I want to run an autolog or not.

The concept I had on my login script was to return you to the prompt you were at in regard to location. Several of my scripts detect connection lost and then wait until they return to a prompt such as the cit and go from there.

I am guessing the M()MBot can have its autologin script disabled, but I don't use the script so I don't know.

Yeah, you can turn off auto relog in MOMBot by using the command:

>relog off

I am guessing you can figure out how to turn it back on.

I'm trying to remember how to disable zoc login re this problem and believe this is what works....

click Options -> Jump to -> AutoMacros -> Play tradewars 2002 and then edit with ? in front of
_login.zrx making it ?_login.zrx and then save the change

can approach another way by clicking Options ->edit session profile ->AutoMacros -> Play tradewars 2002 and then use same edit

my stuff doesn't have an auto-login feature. all revhelper has is a hook for when you log in manually, you get a popup that asks you what game you want to join and then it logs the rest of the way in for you, but it requires user interaction. so in that sense it is not an auto-relog like twx and twx-bots have.

the only conflict this has with twx is that when you log in using revhelper *and* twx, twx will log you in even though revhelper is stopped at the popup asking you what game you want to join. at that point you have to cancel the revhelper login because twx has already got you at the command prompt.

my guess is the guy has twx auto-relog configured *and* some other tool whether it is mombot or something else i don't know. my guess is that it is home-brew because nobody else has the problem.
