 Ah, DOS 3.3 was a very good OS. Now all you need to add is the USR 14.4 HST modem and you are set.

Metropolis BBS was bought out by Multi Service in Kansas City and expanded to several sites in the Big 8 college conference. I worked as a tech on the site for a few months before leaving to work with Gary. It grew to be one of the biggest BBSs of its day.
Some other notes of interest... Castle Ravenloft was also run by Gary Martin. It was the support BBS for the DOS version of the game, while Metropolis was opened to support the MBBS port. Multi Service's Metropolis evolved into Game Port. They bought out Legends of the Red Dragon (beat me by 3 months on that one!), Major Mud, and have even done some original game development, I believe.
