Has anyone else had trouble with the twgs not coming back online after a reboot? I have come home from work twice and found that the pc rebooted (probably from power, we have had a lot of trouble lately with brownouts). I have the startup mode set to online and minimized and autorun checked. thanks in advance for any help

Hey
First we need to know what OS you are running as there is at least issues with windows 2003 or if you are running 2003 get in touch with Vulcan as he got it to work as a service.

Xp should be just fine. Not sure how u loaded it but you can run it as a service with xp and then it will restart on a reboot or from power failure. Another way would be to put it in your startup folder. I just tested it and it worked but not sure if u would run into more problems. I think in the twgs there is an application to set it up as a server. I never used that as i had it running on 2003 and was not possible.
Good Luck

MPaulley, get with me on ICQ monday afternoon/ early evening, I will walk you through making it a service, but as a service it may act funny when trying to shut it down for rebangs and such, I know it did on windows server 2003, but may not give that issue on XP. I will walk you through how to set it up as a service, then you will be set, then if server reboots, then it will restart as needed to keep on going. Are you familiar with command line input?
If not I can walk you through it too. it isn't hard to do to get the twgs setup as a service, I may put up a series of screenshots of the complete steps to set it up on here and my forums for anyone interested, or will make a typed version on how to do it through command prompt.

RR there is an app that sets it up as a service, but it doesn't work, it is easier to use the command prompt to set it up as a service, and works every time, even on windows server 2003, but as I said above, sometimes it would give issues when trying to use the TWGS shut down, it would lock up the twgs and you would have to go in the administrative controls and go to services, and stop the twgs that way and you can't give the 5 minute warning that way, cause it drops the service then and there. As for windows XP, I don't know if it would give any issues on the shutdown, I haven't tested it on my home XP, but may do so, but do know it sets up as a service and runs. If you do have it in the start up folder on any system, it will restart but will not work till someone logs on. cause it needs a user to work, I may test that with my online server to make sure it works without someone logging on, cause I had to take it off as a service on the online server because of the shut down issues and other issues.
