Kane,.. I'm not trying to discourage your idea, and by all means we need to encourage players to better their skills. I was just pointing out that it's not always as easy as it sounds.
My casual game on my board once it was established it's not win or loose, has been a great success, and remains one of the more active games. I can't say for sure, but if an experienced player were to jump in there, and show someone or a few the ropes in there I'm sure they might love it. I don't play my board, so I don't have that opportunity. Feel free if you would like.

heh anything around TW now a days isnt easy. I wasnt looking for that. Im thinking something more along the lines of a month or two playing with the person then haveing a tourny of sorts. I'm not sure how to people would get together. I dotn think a casual game would be the way to go, maybe to get the contacts ups. To me i see it as, you get the two people together, they play together and learn how eachother plays, mostly to see what the newwer players know, then after a month or two, we have a tourny of sorts. kinda like the end of camp bash.
But hell like i said, maybe it is just a dumb idea, atleast thats what cerne says so it must be true.

Actually Kane, that is one of the key concepts of TradeWars Academy. Get with Thrawn and/or Oso. They have a special server geared towards training and Thrawn has a list of more experienced players that are willing to help newer players learn the ropes.

I had heard about the Thrawn Oso training server and I am interested in that one as soon as I get the basics down again. But, you can never have too much of a good thing, like places new people can go to learn about the game teamed with vets that can teach them some things. So Kane, I think your newbie/vet training game would be an excellent idea and I hope you go for it. When I got into the game I would have loved to find something like Tradewars Academy or the training game like what you're talking about Kane. Just my 2 cents, probably not even worth that much, heh

It's not a dumb idea, it's something that is needed. If we come up with a game plan now, maybe we can implement something in the fall when the game starts picking up again. If we don't plan it out, it might never happen.

Was there a post deleted? Who said it was a dumb idea? Also go take a look around the TWA and you will see that there is a plan. Or did I miss something?
