I'm messing with Xide's worldSST and I've run into a problem. Even though I've cleared the send extra characters, whenever I come into a new sector the script is laying down 1 defensive fighter. On my local game that's no big deal, but in a real game people would get pretty annoyed with that - pretty quick. Any idea what the problem is?

In a real game, 1 def fig is called gridding... and is pretty useful tactic. You playing tradehugs?

I don't think you can turn off all the fig laying in turboSST, just most of it. Look around at the various settings.

I thought the extra commands did that, Leave it on make it Deffensive instead of Toll and run with it. You want the figs there.

There are a two places where you can set the number and type of figs to lay in TurboSST.  Strangely enough, because of the modular nature of those scripts one of the settings has to be set in WorldSSM

-----------------------------------
World SSM Settings:
? - Command list
+ - Help on command
Q - Terminate script
B - Bust list file
G - GO!
M - Navigation Settings
R - Refurb Settings
S - SSM Settings

Main>
-----------------------------------

Navigation Settings:
? - Command list
+ - Help on command
Q - Exit menu
A - Attack preference FAST
E - Evasion pattern STANDARD
H - Holo-scan frequency ALWAYS
X - Extra commands f1*cd  <---------------- This command allows you to choose a command or commands to be executed in every sector, you can set the number and type of figs, lay mines, release a beacon.
---------------------------------------
SSM Settings:
? - Command list
+ - Help on command
Q - Exit menu
F - Drop figs under ports OFF
H - Haggling  ON
T - Steal factor 30

Here is where you set the haggle on or off and the 'Drop figs under ports'
If you are using SWATH and TWX, leave the Drop figs option off and just let the X command from the previous menu lay the figs you want.
------------------------------------------

What I do is set the settings in WorldSSM first. TurboSST will use the SSM Setting in WorldSSM, and I can change the settings in the Nav menu of TurboSST. (if you do this, you will see that the Nav settings are the same in both WorldSSM and TurboSST.

It does seem to be a pretty effective way to grid as you trade, so I think I'll do that. Cerne, thanks for the tip. How do you get to the settings for the worldSSM script? Steve

Laff, if you don't grid as you trade you risk someone probing you.

Settings are in the menu. But you'll find that figlay is actually spread out over several includes and settings. The "Extra commands" is only one spot. TurboSST is kindof messy that way. Dig into the includes some and you'll see what I mean.
