Hi, I downloaded Tradewars 2002 V3 and I want to register it, but can't contact any of the wbsites or Phone numbers in the files.  What do I do?

Funny? the OFFICAL site to the game does not have a EASY Button to Buy and Register.
Is this a case of "the Lights are on but no one Home"?

Actually the only site I could find until here was the martech site from the old version of the game that is no longer active, and the only phone number was a Kansas City phone number.  so why don't you try to find out the whole story before you judge somebody.

You may order TWGS either online
via the PayPal.com service, or via normal
mail.  Download the order form or use the
Order! command under the main TWGS menu.

okay I downloaded the new version of TWGS and bought a twgs lite registration code from john.  When I copy/paste the codes it tells me that the tw lite is now registered but I can't use any of the sysop editors.  I wanted to make my game a closed game but it will not allow me to change it, the editors still say the game is unregistered.  In the editors it comes up and tw 2002 and I registered twgs, don't know if this will make a difference or not.  Also someone wrote (somewhere, I have been searching for an answer) that the BBS name must be exactly the same as the original order form.  I went back to the order form and noticed that I put "None" on the bbs (since this is not going to actually be a bbs, but a private family thing).  I tried to key in None as the bbs name but this still didn't work... Does anyone have any idea how to get the codes to work?

Fixed your Quote was giving code with the link and link had /QUOTE at the end, and wouldn't work.

You may have to try several times to get it to accept the codes.  Just make sure everything is exact the way you registered it, and then after you enter them, restart TWGS.

the interesting is the codes are accepted in the CONFIGURATIONS screen but in the game itself (it still says tradewars 2002) it still says that it is unregistered and will not allow me to edit bigbang, use the stardock, etc.
In the game it lists my twlite codes in the tradewars gold registration box but still leaves the tw3 registration box empty and will not accept them.
I am thinking about returning to a previous version and seeing if that will help.

That really wont help you.(returning to a previous)
Your better off working thru this with one of our resident sysops..
I had a simular problem and found i needed to use copy and paste to get the things right  also i had mis matched one of the 3 codes.
So what i did was run cut and paste in both the spot in the TW editor (i think its the first game editor menu) and Thru the Server software on the twgs itself.

Also i think there are several people who have mismatched the ver3 codes  with the twgs server codes. ( i know i did )
There are way more qualified then me to help you.

Is there one code for v3 and one code for gold?  There seems to be a longer code for gold than will fit in the v3 slot.  I only have one code.  This issue is compounded by the fact that I am not using a BBS and so did not put a name in on the order blank.  I think I put None, so I don't know if the word "none" was used or a blank was used.

Yes, there are...

TWGS
Gold
TW2002.

This is because Gold was an addition to tw2002, and then twgs came along. You need codes for all 3, and your registration will come with them (usually, anyway). Make sure the right code goes in the right spot.

Ok, Now I think we are getting somewhere, because my registration only came with the TRADEWARS GOLD registration keys.  The tw2002 key wasn't emailed to me and this is causing me all these issues.
