But 8000 ports is a LOT of ports, too... probably too many. Not that I complain, it makes probes all that more effective. Perhaps 50% or 60% tho would be better.

True. If you want the game to last a little longer, make dock sell ore. That's been a pretty useful change in the past.

But yea the last one was nasty there, but the edit itself (the TWA) is set for 75%... so it's designed to be a high port density edit. The problem is the % doesn't translate if you increase the number of sectors from 5k to 10k. So it artificially decreases the density by half. That's a common game bang mistake, and it prolly ought to be addressed before the game actually opens.

IMO we should go w/ the chosen edit's stock settings, since that's what we voted on. That'd be a 75% port density @ 10k sectors, or 7500 max ports (prolly only starts with like 7k ports, but still). But there is the option of going w/ the 38% density that happens if you bang the TWA then just up the sectors.

Let's decide this one real quick.

I vote for the stock port density percentage as I believe that was the intention of the voters. That seems to be a flaw in TWGS that it doesnt hold port percentage when you change the number of sectors.

I vote for the stock port density as well

Also, putting an ore port at dock is wise. Will keep the poor noobs from getting tagged trying to get some fuel

Should be banging at 9pm EDT on Friday. The other settings are correct.
I know this wasn't addressed in the voting but I was just discussing it with Sing. The stock KI is 5k sectors with a maximum of 4000 ports or 80%. When we increase the universe to 10k are we going to keep the same proportion of ports to sectors (max 8000 ports in 10000 sectors)? Otherwise we get stuck with 3800 ports at the bang.

9 EDT doesn't make sense - we are on EST now. i think 9 EDT is 8 EST. "eastern daylight time" vs. "eastern standard time". we're not in daylight time anymore.

so i assume you really meant to say 9 EST.

We're not on EST... we're on EDT. WTF? Spring forward to daylight savings, fall back to standard. Most of the country jumped forward last month. =)

Ok so on the port density, 75% or 40%. Edit standard for 5k is 75%, but if you bump up the sector to 10k it screws w/ the density. Do we want the really low density or the edit's density? We need to get a general attitude towards it so we can tell vulcan and have him bang it appropriately.
