BigD asked me to write this stuff guys, it was and is for his site, but the easy way for me to make changes to it was to put it on my site and link to it.  This is why I'm doing the honorable thing and putting the link through his site.  I can post this stuff here yes, but it's for his site, and my site benifits as well. 
This is why I don't post the stuff here.

Sage IS doing something correctly.
He's ruling his domain with an iron fist.
He is the evil dictator that does as he wishes, and then comes over here, and abuses our "freedoms" provided to all equally.
Time and time again, respected players of the community have gone to that server, and been accused of cheating, or have been banned for ridiculous things, or caught the sysops themselves cheating, and yet we allow UTW to stick around.
Of course, if you so much as advertise a game on his boards, he will ban you for life.
He's building an army of mindless zealots who haven't the slightest clue of how to play tradewars.
He coddles them, and makes their playing environment so horribly tame, that when they venture elsewhere, they think that when we kill them, we are horrible people, and horrible players, and they scurry back to UTW to hide forever, never leaving his shadow again, for fear of the evil players elsewhere.

Now, you say he has the largest following...
How many of his "players" play *ANYWHERE* else?
Ok, now, of the players that play at *ANYWHERE* else, where do they play?
What? You mean that the reason other servers don't have "followings" is because they aren't in the zealot creation business and they are just providing a place for players to play, which is why THOSE players go from server to server, having fun, meeting new people, and learning the game!

The text still all blends together, so you actually have to read the main site in order to find and follow the link... in the design biz that's considered a bad idea. Make it stand out, put it in it's own table and put it below the menu block or on the main page above the seam. Put an underlined blue-colored link that says "Runaway Proton's News Page" that is atleast one full line away from any other test. Anything else and people will miss it.

On a seperate note, about UTW, the "no advanced script" rule is nonsense. There are a afew advanced pdrop and grid scripters there, and they've never been banned for it. UTW is only popular because of their truce thing, people can go on, play for a few days without worrying (generally) about being blown up. This is because most people there can't handle a real fight, and once truce is over you'll never see them again. This is the same 20 people over and over again.

I would be interested in an inter-TWGS game. No way that player base would do it (hint hint Sage), but I'd love to see something like that. I'd be glad to host it even.

Vader, Dude, I know you are a VERY well respected sysop in this rather interesting TW community and all that, and I know that every awesome player in the game would come to claim to be one of "your" players and kick some serious booty; however, I've been running around your public games for a few weeks now and have found all of 3 players choosing to play in them on a regular bases . . . that being specifically Cerne, freakzilla and Boomhauer.  That's it, end of story.
With that said, do you REALLY wanna garner up those 3 as representives of your server in some sort of competition??
Again, I recognize and appreciate your history in this game and that everybody and their brother will come to your "side" to play on your "team," yet, real is real.  There are 3 specific players choosing to play your public games, and that to me would constitute your current player base.
Are you offering to put those 3 up as your team??   If not, pretty much everyone else you would come up with have also played at utw.  They just for the most part don't admit it.
 
 
 

That would be a conflict of interest. If a inter-TWGS were to be held, it should be on a neutral server like Runaway Protons --No Offense.
Cutting to the chase. People of late are groaning that people are not playing in their Sand-Box and therefore are Noobs --the Ultimate TW Insult.  Pa-touie...  I spit in your Low Turns Sand-Box.. now. what are you gonna do about it?
