Does anyone play on VidKids server? Has anyone who does been having troubles logging on recently?

I found a webpage, but it hasn't been updated since 2004.

VidKid: If you're listening, your server is messed up or something. I have barely been able to access the server for a week. 90% of the time when I try to log on, I keep getting these messages:

Attempting to connect to: vidsworld.no-ip.org:2002

Connection accepted

Connection lost.

I try over and over, all day at different times, with no success. I'm about to abandon the game that I am playing there because I cannot get in to play my turns and daily play is part of the game.

I'm "kinda playing" in the game that you are in, F? maybe a day a week for the last while. Sometimes have connection difficulties, but the reverse of yours, I can connect more than 90% of the time, and usually when I cannot, I get to it shortly thereafter.

From where I live, it's 8K miles away as the crow flies and god only knows how far landline and comsat, given that, very good connection.

Well, this is Day 3 in row where I am unable to access the server, even 10% of the time.

I'm at a straight 100% "Do Not Pass Go, Do Not Collect $200, Go Directly To Disconnect" streak for the past 3 days.

I think I'm done with this server. Between rebanging all the games with no prior warning about 2 months ago, getting cut off on several occasions vulnerable when the server shut down (also without warning), unreliable access to the server for a week, and a complete inability to access it for another 3 days, I am done with VidKids world.

well Killian, I can't speak for Vid but don't give up he is have some sort of conetion problem, dunno what it is but it's not his cp it's somethin to do with the conetion cable provder he HAS to go threw. not a lot of options where he is. It is a recent ocerence and hopefuly won't last.

I know he is as frustrated as you are atm, if not more so.

I've had connection problems most of the time I've played on Vids, but it was more like Kav's experience: could connect 90% of the time, couldn't connect 10% of the time. And I could totally deal with it, it wasn't a problem at all. I expect to sometimes not get to log on.

Its just progressively gotten worse with a snowball effect happening over the last 10 days or so: less and less connections, more and more drops.

My adversaries are having very little trouble logging on as Kav is in the same game as I and he said he isn't having this problem. The turn bank is only 3 days so I started losing turns from having a full turn-bank sometime yesterday, as this is day 4 of no connection. Combine these two facts together with the fact that someone found my home base on the last day I could connect and I was unable to move my planets due to these problems, I'm probably toast. And even if I'm not invaded, I've lost ground because I've lost turns with no hope for connection in sight.

I know that VidKid has his board up out of the kindness of his heart and love of the game. It would be nice if he would actually address the players about the problem, make some sort of update like Runaway Proton has done or say SOMETHING about it. But even if he gets the problem fixed, by the time I can log on again I'll probably already have been defeated.

No Sir. The connection problems would need to be fixed and the game would need to be rebanged before I will go back to it.

The messages you received are typical when the TWGS is down. You are connecting to his computer I believe, but the TWGS is not responding.

I tried connecting using telnet and was unable to connect.
