I don't want to be associated in anyway with the awards this year, or any subsequent year that they are.. well, not run by the community and I ask the people running the awards to respect my request.

Actually I think that would be good. This years categories are ok, but I preferred last years and when it is posted as the "10th annual" that seems to imply continuity. The base catagories should be continued. The most important catagory IMO, if I remember right, was that of "teacher" - maybe it is in this year's list if I look closer.

Combining SWATH, ATTAC, and TWX in the same catagory is not comparing the same application type for instance. TWX is not a true helper IMO - ATTAC, SWATH, GATH are helpers. ZOC is a terminal program and not a true helper since its design was not for the game. Comparing TWX vs ZOC for scripting would be a better comparision.

We here we go. While it may be your choice not to accept the award its wrong to think you have the right to censor the people making the nominations.  This isn't really about you, its about your peers and what they think.  They make the nominations, they vote, you just accept the award or not.

Think about it, you have the right to choose to participate or not, make a nomination or not, cast a vote or not; but what gives you the right to control how others choose to do those things?
